It had been a couple of days since the male had met up with the king. Since then, Ravi had spent him time with Sevati looking around the pride. He wanted to get as acquainted with it as possible. He had to prove himself worthy. If there was anything he wanted more, this had to be it. He was doing this for Sevati, she wanted to live here and he was going to do his best to make her dream happen!

He remembered the king's words, he should seek out Kota and learn the ways of what he should do. He also knew that Kota's mate was expecting, so he didn't want to intrude on any private affairs, so he waited a couple of days before he decided to go and find the large, black male. With a smile on his face, he made his way towards where the king had told him Kota's den was. Hopefully, he was heading in the right direction.

The large black male lay just within the boundries of the jungle which lapped at the coastline. he had found that this was the best place to view the whole beach and the dunes beyond. The jungle strangly pulled all scents to it, so he could always tell when someone was approaching. A familiar scent touched his pale nose and his eyes fled across the beach to the shape of the large red male. he was making his way towards his den.

'Kota gave a slight growl and stood. "Ravi, over 'ere lad." He called, his voice a rather loud boom of a thing. he didn't want Khepri to be disturbed. She was delecate at the moment and his job was to protect her as well as the rest of the pride.

Although he liked Ravi, that certainly didn't mean he wanted him any where near Khepri. Not right now any way.

Ears perked forward as Ravi heard a voice call out to him. By the accent and scent, he could tell that it was Kota. He picked his way carefully, being very quiet while he had approached Kota, where he was. It felt a bit like trespassing on another's familial area, and he had hoped he wasn't intruding on anything. That was the last thing that he needed at the moment.

His gold eyes gazed at Kota as he gave the male a small smile, "I hope I'm not interupting anything important at the moment, Kota." There were other faint scents about and he could only guess that they were Kota's family. Remembering why he had came, "I wanted to congradulate you and your mate on your cubs. Sevati and I had ran into the king some moons ago and he told us the good news," He paused before he continued, "And, we had asked for acceptance into the pride but before he felt comfortable with us joining he wanted us to prove ourselves. He told me to go find you and ask if you wouldn't mind teaching me your job. So that, I could help you out in protecting the pride."

The big male stood as Ravi approached him his ears perking forwards. He knew if he stood tall he looked even more formidab;le, if that were possible. With his jet black fur and heavily mucled shoulders as well as his large stature, to those whom didn't know him, he could seem very ferocious.

"Na lad, ye ain't disturbin' nothin, ah'd jus' preciate it if ye dun go a pokin' roun' tha den." His mane bristled slightly. It was the only time 'Kota had ever seemed overly aggitated. he didn't want anyone near the den, near Khepri and the cubs. "She be in thar wit tha cube ye unnerstan' don' be wantin' noone ta be a 'avin a nose in, bu' I thank ye fer tha congrats. They be a doin' well, after a bit 'o' a frigh' at tha 'ginin'."

Settling slightly the dark males lips turned in a smile. "Tha be right lad? Aye I could be a teachin' ye my job, taint' zakly ard on the 'ol body. ye 'ave ta watch tho." he raised a slim brow beneath his excecively thick mane. "Ah cou' do wit someone ta 'elp patrol tho, tis a big beach. Lotta territory ta cover."

Ravi shook his head, "Oh no, I didn't have any intentions of going into the den or getting anywhere close enough to bother you and your mate. I feel slightly uncomfortable enough being so close as it is...I'm not used to being in the area of another's den, it brings back unwanted memories." It was a good thing too, because he would have flipped if he knew that Kota's mate is full firekin. Being born a firekin slave, his fear for them is deeply inbedded into him. And thus, he feels a bit uncomfortable being so close to Kota's den, but he made no notions to go further, he would go no further than where he was standing.

Trying to brush his uneasy feeling aside, he tried to feel silly being so weary around friends, but as such, there were just some things that were hard to get rid of. But, his golden eyes lighten up as he flicked his tail. "That's what I've noticed. I've spent a couple of days helping to get acquainted with the area." He smiled to Kota, "Thank you very much for your time."

Nahodha'Kota flickered his tail a little looking to the mouth of the den where his mate and cubs slept. Noone was allowedin there unless he was near. It wasn't right. Giving a quick nod the dark lion turned and hopped from beneath the jungles canopy, on to the pale sand. "Aye lad, I jus' be a warnion' ye, tis mah right ta be a tellin ye ta steer clear."

The big male gave a roll of his shoulders his smile never tapering as he padded off down the beach towards the rocky out crop. "Ah be a reaconin' we shoul' start ere. I calls this spot tha crows nest, tis one 'o tha best places ta spy tha lan' from. but gets damn 'ot up thar durin tha day. Aint no place for a lion ta sit all tha day." He pointed upwards with his muzle and then turned back to Ravi. "Ah be a reaconin' tha king'd wan' me ta set ye up near tha border, ye jus' make sure if anyone comes a runnin' ye fetch me. Aint noone askin' ye ta attack noone."

Quickly turning away from the den and back towards the sands, Ravi nodded. It was Kota's right and he respected the male. He could understand a little of what he was feeling, since he would probably be a bit protective if Sevati and he ever produced any cubs. But enough of that, he put his attention back to what Kota was about to teach him.

As he glanced to the outcrop of rocks, his golden eyes gazed at it, studying it. He could see that it was a nice place to reside and watch over the pride, but at the same time, it did look like it could get hot. Hopefully, it wouldn't be as burning as the sands of the desert. But, he'd have to visit this place occassionally to watch the pride. "The rocks definitely look like they help to give you a good view of the pride, afterall." With a nod, he didn't think the king wanted him to fight either, not that he would. "I wouldn't dream of attacking anyone unless they had any ill intentions. And even so, I would definitely go get you and the king if a problem should arise."

'Kota gave a curt nod, he felt like a captain instructing his crew as to what to do when the seas rose up high and hammered on the ships deck. "Well ye jus' be a lookin' after ye self lad an' be a fetchin ye' self back ta me on a reglar basis, if tha king wants ya ta learn from me, guess tha makes ya my 'sponsability." He smiled and gave a cheeky wink.

"Cmon' ah'll show ye whar ah'll be a postin yer. Nah, ye ave ta remember, tis pretty peaceful ou' ere, but ye get tha occasional rogue a wonderin' bout so ye see someone, ye come an get me alrigh'? Jus' acos they be a lookin' friendly, don' be a meanin they is alrigh'? I aint be avin' yer gettin 'urt on my watch ya got me?" he chuckled marching back up the bach away from the dens, towards the spike grassed dunes.

With a nod, Ravi understood what he was supposed to do. Patrol the area and then report to Kota with his findings. With a lopsided grin, it made him feel glad to know that he was being counted on now! "I understand. Even the meanest of lions can put on a cheerful face to fool you." He knew that all too well, which is where he got the scars on his face from. Looks can definitely be deceiving.

His golden eyes took careful note of the landscape, making sure he memorized it. By working on it every day, he knew he'd be able to walk back and forth with his eyes closed, but until that time happened he took in all that was around him. With a grin, "Of course not, I wouldn't want to disappoint you or the king now!" He made his way after Kota, and could see the spike grassed dunes up ahead.

'Kota continued onwards skirting the dried grasses. "Ye may wanna skirt this stuff, tis a pain on tha legs." He smiled at Ravi, it was good to have someoen top help him take the whole beach. Sure he could do it alone, he took his job very seriousl, he wanted to be able to spend some time with Khepri and the cubs though.

Padding up the small rise of the beach the big male stopped and sat quietly. "Usually mos' come from thataway, tha savannah, she be tha mos' common way ta come. If ye pace this ere stretch, ye'll mos' likely spot anyone a comin'" the dark male raised a brow in question, wishing to confirm that Ravi Understood. They were to watch for intruders, especially now. It was their job to protect the pride and especially the cubs there in.

With a slight nod of his head, Ravi was letting Kota know that he was indeed listening and taking all of the information in. It was crucial that he understood everything and did his job to the fullest, he wanted to prove himself very much. There was nothing more important in the world for him than making Sevati happy.

As he made sure to stay close enough to Kota, the firekin male couldn't help but take in the scenery around him. With a smile, he gazed up at Kota, "I could definitely imagine that being the most common way, Sevati and I had came from that way ourselves." While he knew of only a few young cubs in the pride at the current moment, that would change as time went by and more members came.

The big black male have a quick nod. He was glad Ravi understood his words. Glad that Ravi could see method in what he was being told. Giving a cheery wink he looked back down the beach. "Ifn' ye don' mind lad, I'll be a Moseyin' away fer a while. Ah'll come an' get ye in an hour or two. Gunna go an check on me family. Ye be moighty handy ta have aroun'. I love me job lad, but I wanna spen' time wit me family as well." He smiled and geave a nod of that extra large head turning to head off down the beach. It felt good to have a helper, someone he could relay on and give him a little time off. It would be nice to spend an afternoon with his family.

With a nod, Ravi wouldn't keep Kota any longer. He could scarcely imagine what it would be like to have a family of your own to take care of, but at least for the time being he has Sevati. He smiled to the other male, "But of course! Don't let me keep you too much long, Kota. Go and have fun with your family, I shall be here on watch till we meet up again." His gold eyes watched the black male as he walked back towards his own den to spend time with his family.

Once Kota's figure was out of view, the firekin male turned his attention back to the task at hand as he went about on his first day of guard-duty.
