I read somewhere that a few people tried to spin milkweed, dandelion and other fluff and was somewhat successful. I was thinking of doing the same (with a few addition of wool or other fiber for stability), but seeing those hand carders online around the 50+ range i decided not, any1 seen a cheap but nice hand carder? and tips on spinning those types of fiber fluff?

Good, cheap alternative for hand carders: those slicker ferret brushes - the ones with thetiny fine wires. You can find them bigger for dogs and cats.
I have never tried spinning non-animal fibers, but the alternative carders work well for wool.
