City of Kine of the Omega Alliance

Kine is a city that has pride in its history. It was built by humans that were...racist to anyone besides humans. The large city is a super-power, mostly due to the unity that gives its citizens strength. But below the surface of this city lives a dangerous group of underground citizens. Corruption billows out like smoke. Vampires...demons...Gorgons. Things live in the shadows of Kine that, if illuminated, would drive Kine's wrath down like holy justice. Anyone that is new to Kine must be very carefull not to draw the eye of the Authority. Many of its citizens walk a dangerous path of double lives.

Population: Human, Half-Humans.

Sogue arrived finnaly, sopping wet, to the gate of Kine. A few guards were watching the gate, but they kept their heads down, obviously dejected to be out in the frigid rain. Sogue's pasty skin stood out in the darkness. He looked behind him at Helena, looking for an encouraging look that would tell him to ask the guard for entry.

Helena nodded at Sogue. She wished she'd had some form of jacket to cover her pale skin. Right now, she was too pale to pass as human, even if her eyes were green. Helena shivered and walked up to Sogue's side, pressing her body into his in hopes of finding some heat.

Sogue held her close. His body was warm due to the flammable blood in his veins. He hobbled over to the guard, who kept his head down.
"Excuse me," Sogue shouted over the din of falling rain, "Could you open the gate for us?" The guard looked up at Sogue, saw what he was and became almost as pale as the two vampires.
"Uh, sure, sure," he turned and waved at another guard on the top of the siege wall. There was fervent shouting and then the gate began to rise. The guard put his head down and didn't look at the pair again. "Welcome to Kine," he said tentitivly.

Helena buried her face into Sogue's chest, sheilding her face from the rain as he spoke to the Guard. When she heard the gates begin to open, however, she looked up and took a step back, taking hold of Sogue's hand.

After the gate opened with a resounding smash, the couple hurried across, hoping to get inside and out of the rain. As they entered the walls of the massive city, the rain still beat against their heads.
"What's the plan? Get some sleep from an inn? Because we'll have to be carefull and go into one that isn't apt to notice two Vampires."  

[Arthien]

Helena nodded. "Find an inn. I want a hot bath," she said, a shiver running through her body. After recovering from it, she continued. "Sleep would be nice too. Maybe it won't be raining in the morning," she added hopefully.

The trick, they found, wasn't finding an inn, it was finding an inn that was run by a fellow Vampire. Sogue knew some haunts from his younger days, and they tried those first. He found a fellow named Deebles who recognised him and offered him a safe night in one of his best rooms. He waved the fee for the first night. Sad that seeing his face home again was payment enough.

Helena was so excited. When they got to the room, she immediately ran for the tub and turned the water on hot, full blast. She found a little bottle of bubble bath on the sink and poured some in. Watching the bubbles grow on the surface of the water was therapeutic. After shutting the door, she peeled off her soaked clothes and got into the tub. The heat of the water instantly warmed her through. She sighed with content.

Sogue avoided looking into the bathroom. He didn't want to infringe on Helena's privacy. He got onto the bed and put his weapons on a chair at a desk. He sat on the edge of the bed and peeled off his soaked boots, let his toes wag a little.

Helena's cue it was time to get out of the tub was her pruney fingers and toes. She giggled at the sight of them. She got out of the tub and pulled the lever that let the water drain. She grabbed a towel and dried her body and hair off, then wrapped the towel around her. She walked over to the door and opened it a crack, just enough for her head to peek out through. "Sogue," she said. "I don't have any clothes to change into..." She smiled sheepishly at him. "Is there anything in that closet I can put on?"
