It had been many moons, too many to count, since Sevati remembered seeing the ocean for the first time. Even now, it never ceased to put her in a sense of awe. She had met up with Khepri and her son not too long ago. The little cub was quite the character, he was definitely going to take after his father. Especially with that accent of his, but then again, his mother had a pretty strong accent as well. With her head slightly turned, she glanced out at the ocean before a smile slowly crept on his muzzle. Today was a lovely day to go out and mingle within the pride, getting to know the members more.

Tamu was growing up faster than she liked. With adolescence came not only the hormones and mood-swings that sometimes made her unbearable to be around, but also the coming of the Rites. Despite being of royal blood, she still had to go through the same as every growing cub within the pride. Tested by the sea.
Great. She needed approval by that too now.
Before even getting halfway up the shore from her comfy den, Tamu flopped on a sand dune and just closed her eyes for a moment to reflect on what was looming.

Paws were cushioned by the sand as she traveled along the shoreline. It didn't take Sevati long before she spotted a dark figure some distance away. Lime green eyes peered curiously at the figure, as she got closer. Not wanting to get so close to invade the other's space, she called out softly. "Hello!"
Her head was slightly tilted as she got a better look at the lioness. She didn't look too old, rather, looked a lot like Siya. They must be related then, she concluded quietly before noting the other's troubled demeanour.

Tamu shot up as she heard a voice, totally startled by the intrusion into her thoughts. Rather than being angry though, she wore an expression of 'whu?' and looked very dopey indeed.
She had mere seconds to compose herself and look somewhat befitting her title as a Bahari royal member. The lioness approaching was white as the clouds and certainly looked like she'd just fallen from the sky. She felt a little unprepared actually, almost felt common. It wasn't often you saw an almost pure white creature. Sevati's mate would probably startle her more though.
"Oh hello, ma'am," she greeted, a little sleepily, but tried to sound polite.

Lime green eyes settled on the young lioness as Sevati has a soft smile on her features. She seemed to have startled the other, hopefully she wasn't intruding on the female. That was the last thing she wanted to do, was annoy another. But, she couldn't help to admire the dark colors that the female's pelt possessed. This one looked a lot like Tamba, actually. This had to be another one of his daughters, since she remembered Siya talking about her siblings afterall.
"I hope I was disturbing you. My name's Sevati." She introduced herself, as that was the polite thing to do. Plus, she needed more friends here in the pride if she wanted to fit in!

"No, I wasn't doing anything in particular to be disturbed," she smiled and chuckled lightly. "A pleasure to meet you Sevati. My name is Tamu."
She bowed her head in greeting, and sort of did a curtsy.
"Apologies as well, I'm not normally in the habit of just sleeping wherever I fall. Its always nice to grab a moment of peace whenever an opportunity arises though."

As Tamu dipped her head, Sevati returned the gesture. With a smile, "I'm glad to hear that. It is a pleasure to meet you, Tamu." Her ears flicked in the female's direction as she listened to the other. Oh yes, she definitely knew that feeling. It was nice to get a moment of peace from life.
"I know the feeling of snagging a moment of peace, there's no need to apologize," She paused before her head tilted slightly, "Forgive me if I am being nosy, but are you related to Siyasura and Tamba? I've been here for some time, but I'm still getting around to at least meeting everyone here in the pride."

Tamu tried to keep a polite smile on her face, but inside she was screaming a bit. Fair enough, Sevati was obviously curious and she couldn't be blamed for that. But once again, it was another 'are you the King's daughter?' question. Although looking like his little double was bound to bring all manner of questions.
"Yeah, Siya is my sister, and Tamba is my dad," she replied in that school-girlish way.

So she was correct, though she was quite obvious to what Tamu was actually thinking. Sevati could be quite naive about some things, she did have a slightly sheltered life back in the Mistweavers land. "I had thought so. Siya spoke about her brothers and sisters, I was hoping to meet them!" She paused before continuing, "My sister also lives here, but you wouldn't have guessed she was my sister if you saw her. We look like complete opposites." She adored Ausi, Ausi was like her second half, they had always been close.
With her head tilted slightly, she was curious and didn't want to seem like she was nosy. "You seemed trouble...is something the matter?" She quickly added, "You don't have to answer if you don't want to, I don't want you to think that I'm nosy or anything!"

"Heh, watch out for Miani, she's the crazy one in the family," she chortled. Miani wasn't really 'crazy' per-se, but it was funny to think of her sister, all dressed in her seaweed and beads.
Tamu had never quite sat up from her dazed nap, and re-shuffled herself so that she at least looked presentable and attentive.
"Oh no, you're not...nosy...but its something I don't really wanna talk about," she tried to explain gently. "You might not even understand anyways. There's much better things to talk about."

With a giggle, Sevati couldn't help but to find humor in what Tamu had said about her sister. She could say the same about Ausi, her sister was a bit crazy sometimes. "I'll have to remember that when I do run into Miani. I'll tell her that she's the crazy one in the family, curtesy of Tamu." She teased playfully, not that she would do that anyway. But, it was always fun to jest.
With a nod, she understood. "It's quite alright. There are many things that I don't know about afterall, so I'm sure I'd be of little help anyway." She giggled softly, she was the baby in the family afterall. When she was younger, her elder sister would try to shield her from the world. "That's quite true. I'll have to introduce you to my mate sometime. He needs to meet others, he can be quite anti-social at times. He just doesn't know what he's missing to have company!" She shook her head before she glanced from Tamu to the ocean, "It's very nice to see the ocean, so full of water and life. Where I am from, the water was drying up everywhere...there was little water to play in."

Sevati had managed to tease a smile from Tamu, though it didn't last long. It shouldn't have surprised her to hear that where Sevati was from, the water had gone. But it was all Tamu had ever known, and even despite the stories her father had told her of his mis-adventures on the plains, it was hard to comprehend.
"Is that why you left?" she asked, curious.

Glad to see Tamu crack a smile, Sevati's ears pricked forward as she heard Tamu's question. She hadn't really thought much about the reasons they had left, since her father did not tell her all the reasons why they had left in the first place. She shook her head, "That's not the only reason why my family had left our previous home, but it's one of the reasons," She paused, "They main reason we had left was because of my father, rather, what my father is. The pride we were living in were rather intolerant of outsiders, especially those of a certain type: the Firekin. My dad is a Firekin and therefore, being half-Firekin myself, all of my family was very unwelcomed in the pride. We were blamed for the waters going away and the food getting scarce." She let out a sigh, it was definitely a rather hard time back then, especially being a cub.
"It just wasn't a good place to live anymore, so my father took us and left to find a new home."

"The what?" she asked again quickly, like a child. "What's a...fire-kin?...and why would someone be intolerant of them..."
Tamba had never preached the idea that certain lions were better than others. He had no right, even as a king, to make those claims. Sure, pelt colour was one thing - dark blues and such were treasured here because they were like the waters they loved - but nothing else mattered here, save for disposition. And that was something Tamu had come to believe in.

Quite surprised by Tamu's question, Sevati wouldn't have imagined any place that hadn't heard of the firekin before. Even way out here, there were small traces of firekin, with Kota's mate for example.
Thinking of how to answer the question, she replied, "The Firekin are a pride in the desert that have a bad reputation. They are known for their red pelts and large size, they're larger than the average lion. There are rumors and tales of evil deeds that the Firekin lions have done, which some prides, like the one I was from, made them not like any lions with red on their fur or had any Firekin heritage in them because they were afraid," She paused to let it all sink in for the princess. "It's not right to judge everyone just by what you hear, but that's what happened with my father and our family in our former pride."
