Sailor V = Princess Serenity?

Ok, ok, so I'm not going to link the slightly -illegal- manga scans that I've been reading that only goes up to chapter eight, but srsly. How is sailor venus princess serenity?

I don't mind spoilers/explanations.

Sailor V is Sailor Venus?

Princess Serenity is Sailor Moon?

In the manga Chapter 8, it begins off with Sailor V aka Sailor Venus saying that she's the Princess Serenity.

maybe because it would confuse alot of people. if not, they just prolly forgot to put it in there.

Technically they did. When Sailor Venus shows up, Moon wonders if -she's- the moon princess.
(which we can see it as illogical because the next epsiode shows us that Moon is indeed the Moon princess)

Because they're both blondes with blue eyes they can easily be mixed up. (Remember in Super, Usagi couldn't possibly transform before Kaonight, so venus used her compact/moon pen to turn into "Sailor Moon")

Technically, they didn't show her to be the actual moon princess in the anime as they did in the manga. I seem to remember that in the anime Sailor V(enus) clearly states that she is not the Princess (both in Japanese and in English). In the manga, she is like "Yes I am the princess. Fufufu~", with the moon symbol and everything.

I think they did that so the reader would be wondering along with the scouts if Sailor V is the princess and then get shocked to find she isn't the princess but a decoy. It creates a great sense of mystery and drama. ^_^

I always got confused about that too...and how she got upset knowing she didn't really need to have the crescent moon on her forehead and how Sailormoon was the princess. I love Sailor V...but geez...let it go XD

As the other people have said, she was just a decoy princess. But from what I know about the author, Sailor V was her first creation (and favorite scout) so she wanted to emphasis some importance on Sailor V as well as Sailormoon :]

The anime shrinks down A LOT from the manga!! There's so much more in the manga that you can tell what was really different from the anime. Both are still good though sweatdrop

Things get cut out when transforming books/manga in t.v. shows/movies. There's more you can put in a book/manga, because people can read it over days and days. You wouldn't want to watch a movie for that long though. And I imagine they had to cut out a lot when they made the anime due to time/number of shows in a season. As long as the essence is still there, though, I think that's all that matters. Most fans read the manga and watch the anime anyway.
