Several people I know are what I would call alternative but only about 2-3 are what I would call goth.

No. There's about 5 goth/rock/metal pubs and clubs around me.

I know that there is a scene in the area where I live (there are at least eleven weekly or monthly goth nights at clubs within an hour and a half of my city, though none are actually in my city), as well as three or four alt clothing shops, so there have to be goths somewhere out there.

I've met a few others while being out and about. They all have been quite older than me, and I am not exactly 'buddy-buddy' with them or anything, though they have all been very kindly and respectful. It seems as if the scene in my area is mostly comprised of people in their 20's and 30's, with a lot of older goths among the scene as well.

Sometimes I feel a little like an oddball at school, but I don't mind. I have a bunch of friends anyways, so it isn't as if I feel at all alone.

There are only a few that I know who are goth and they don't even live around me anymore. As for my self I can't really classify myself as goth... it's sad...

I feel your pain, I was homeschooled K-12.




Anyway. Yes I do feel lonesome but only because I never see any young female goths. There are goths here but they're all either older than I'd like to make friends with or all guys. I like making girlfriends...

I thought I was the only Goth in the town (Luton), until I went to the Goth club - The Coven - and discovered the Goths in my area do a weekly pub meet on a Thursday night. Now I know most of them around here and made some close friends through the little network.

My point being - support your local Goth club! May the Batcave live forever in fragmented form!

Theres a scene in D.C. I occasionally go to the local goth club. I don't have very many friends who are members of the subculture though. Which is odd. Cause I'm a total freak and people love me for it.
