First Round Match 3: Keitama Vs Naomi: Winner Keitama

[Saburi Kashikiri]

Each of you is lead into the arena from a different side by a Jounin. Keitama is lead in from the North and Naomi from the South. As you enter you notice the large round field. There are two giant weeping willow trees one on the east side the other on the west side. A large audience is watching and cheering. The Jounin's stop at the entrance way and give you a little shove into the arena. "Goodluck." They say to you.

Naomi was led into the area, giggling all the way. She walked in small circles, taking in everything around her with the enthusiasm of a child. There was a permanent smile plastered on her face as she dropped to all fours, looking up at the people in the stands around her. It was almost as if she was unaware that she was about to be examined at all.

Keitama walked into the ring as he had his hands behind his head and glanced around the arena. "Psssshhh, Why do we always have to go through so much trouble?" he said talking to no one in particular as he was studying the arena. He glanced over and saw Naomi at the other end, as she was fascinated with the arena. It was amusing, but for the moment, Keitama set his hands down and knelt low to the ground with his elbows against his legs propping up his head as he sat there watching for a moment.

As Naomi caught sight of her opponent, she suddenly seemed to lose some of the childish charm that was present. She was still smiling, but it was a more focused smile. Walking briskly to the center of the ring, she locked eyes with her opponent, giving him a soft inclination of her head, her smile still ever present. Naomi was ready for the game to begin; and it showed. Slowly, she dropped low to the ground was well, crouched almost like a cat ready to spring. Sher head twitched to the side slightly as she waited for the signal that the match could start.

Keitama looked a bit surprise in her change in attitude. Looks like those notes were right as he stood up slowly so as not to leave an opening and bowed slightly towards Naomi also awaiting the first strike as he was already beginning to plan ahead in his mind. He waved at her after getting up with a friendly greeting, "I wish you the best of luck," he said.

Naomi returned his greeting with a friendly bow of her head from her low position.

"We wish it for you as well," she said, her voice as sweet as honey. Suddenly, she began to funnel chakra into her feet, creating a burst of speed as she moved forwards in the blink of an eye. As it appeared she was going to try and tackle him, she shifted her weight around, pushing off from the ground and soaring into a back flip, her foot aimed to connect with the bottom of his jaw.

Keitama saw her charging and took a defensive stance setting his feet on the ground with his hands open palmed in front of himself. His notes mentioned Naomi would be quick on her feet and to expect sudden changes in her balance to throw the opponent off. As she shifted her weight, Keitama raised his right hand above his left as he took the hit with his right hand. Naomi's leg did make contact as Keitama was lifted off the ground a bit..... but his left hand was free as he managed to slap Naomi's leg with his left hand and was sent back a few feet as he managed to recover with a backflip. After his recovery, he spit to the left there was a little bit of blood there.

Keitama then got into his defensive stance again but his right hand pointed at Naomi. There was now a small tag on her thigh.

As he slapped her leg, her eyes widened slightly, not because of the tag but more the placement of the slap. Landing in another crouched position, she looked at the tag for a second before grabbing it and attempting to take it off of her thigh and attach it to one of her kunai, throwing it at one of the willow trees.

Keitama shrugged his shoulders as he shook his head. "You should check the tags before you react like that," he said as the tag hit the willow tree and made the familiar "thunk" sound into the tree. "Now this one," Keitama said pulling out another tag and attaching it to a kunai before throwing it in the middle between Keitama and Naomi. As it landed, it set off a small explosion which caused a small amount of dust to raise in the small arena area.

Keitama took the opportunity to move away from his current position and somewhere safer in the arena.

As the kunai was being thrown, Naomi was already on the defensive, in case it was thrown at her. When the small explosion happened, kicking up a cloud of dust in the arena, she back flipped away from it gracefully, landing in a low crouched position. She could no longer see her opponent, which was a little unsettling, but if he was going to use the dust to his advantage, then so was she. Standing, she quickly performed the Clone Technique, creating 5 different clones of herself around the arena. With that, Naomi waited, closing her eyes and listening as the dust began to settle. She was waiting...she knew better than to do barging around the arena, looking for an opponent who was hiding from her. Her clones were doing the same thing, each of them tilting their heads slightly so they could hear better.

Keitama used his speed to make the most of this opportunity in the dust. He had already memorized what locations he was going to use as he ran into the dust cloud and began dropping items. With the dust restricting visibility, he would utilize that fact and focus on sound.

As Keitama ran in the dust cloud, he was randomly dropping kunais, tags, and even a few ringing bells. They were thrown apparently randomly as those watching the dust cloud could heard the tinkling of the bells coming from one tree to the other. This meant that it was hard to figure out where Keitama was since the sounds were in a pattern, but not in a straight path.

Naomi watched the dust clod carefully, though she was not able to see more than a shadow of her opponent for the briefest second: too short a time to really do anything. She had been listening, though there did not seem to be a real pattern to his movement, and she was certain he was trying to throw her off. The use of bells was not really something she had expected to hear in the dust cloud, so she could only assume he was dropping them to trick her. She was getting a little tired of this charade he was putting on.

Three of the 6 Naomi's in the arena, though not the real one, moved in the direction of the dust cloud at an alarming speed, all approaching from different sides. As they flew into the dust, they were poised to attack him, if they hit anything. They were going in blindly, but it was worth a shot. Even if they came into contact with him, the hit would not really do anything, and she was not even sure if they would make it through the dust surrounding him. It was worth a shot at least. Hopefully it would distract his concentration enough to get him out of the dust cloud.

OOC: Kawarimi no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themself with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack.

There is no attack for you to have to do a switch like that. And from the looks of it, you can't see your opponent. So you need to edit, since you can not just switch like that.

Keitama didn't have to worry as the clones were running into his random objects. As they were blindly charging, one tripped over a log, another stepped on a few caltrops, and Keitama decided to let loose one more explosive tag as another small boom resounded in the arena. One of the clones did manage to at least see Keitama in the dust cloud, but the secondary explosion caused even more trouble for the clones.

Keitama eventually ended up hiding in one of the willow trees keeping a very sharp eye on his surroundings as he was quickly setting up another small trap in the tree.

As the clones disappeared into smoke as they came into contact with the various objects he had been moving into the dust cloud. She had never liked playing cat and mouse, and this game was starting to annoy her. Why he would not just face her, she did not know. Sighing, she folded her hands behind her, turning to face the wall between the two willow trees, the easiest places to hide. If he was not going to come to her willingly, then she was going to have to make him.

Quickly, she attached two exploding tags to two different kunai, throwing them at the two trees on either side of the arena. As soon as the two blades hit the trunks of the tree, she activated the exploding tags, causing explosions at either tree trunk, splintering the trunks.
