Joining
OOC Process
PM Ecavi with the following information:
SoA's name & image Why you want them to join, why they might want to join. Any preferences of class and rank. Requests to take slavery out of the roll will require some justification. Rolls will be done in this thread, results will be PMed back to you. SoA's complete information, including chosen rank, should then be posted here so they can be added to the memberlist.
IC Process
Interested rogues are brought to the King and Queen, who determine the sincerity of their intentions. With the King and Queen, they are introduced to the Shaman and they discuss the possibility and meaning of slavery in the Mwezi'Johari. All accepted lions are considered part of the middle class until they are initiated. Adults and adolescents are initiated at the first full moon following their request to join, cubs and juveniles when they reach adolescence. Lions are put to sleep using a special plant (moon flower) under the full moon. The ceremony is performed by the Shaman and sleepers are watched over by the Nurse. Within the next couple days, a welcoming ceremony takes place where new members are formally introduced to all priests and heads before deciding on a rank and finally being allowed to mingle with members of their own class, who are expected to introduce themselves and welcome their new class-mates.
The Rogue Rolling System
The moon flower is only effective for up to 2 weeks, as such the moon passes through each phase/class once during the ceremony. The lower the number they roll, the sooner they awake and the higher their class.

Breeding
Overview
Breeding is always open. Rogue breeding is allowed. Hybrid breeding is not allowed.
Pridal Views
Rogue breeding is permitted but is not encouraged.
Permission may be obtained from the Monarch to venture into the roguelands to find a suitable father of cubs. Having permission greatly reduces the suspicion surrounding a pregnancy. Mothers of litters by rogues may be questioned, especially if her cubs resemble any pride male. Slaves can rogue breed, but they are treated with more suspicion than any other because the father's identity may be hidden to spare him a life of slavery. Males can breed outside the pride without consequence however it is suspicious if they start bringing back too many cubs. The pride does not approve of cubnapping, real or imagined. Absolutely no cubs can leave the pride to join an outside father. The pride monitors pregnancy well and no lion except the Monarch and Shaman can send a pride member away, even cubs. All possible routes of making it happen, however stealthy they are supposed to be, carry consequences. If you absolutely can't wait until they are adolescent, when they are allowed to decide for themselves, PM Ecavi to discuss options.
Hybrid breeding is not permitted, period.
The pride's belief system is centered around a lion deity and a lion's interaction with a special plant, they are not prepared to deal with other species and so they traditionally do not. This does not mean that other species and hybrids are necessarily feared or hated. Visitors and passers-by are treated civilly though they are not allowed to stay.
Marriage is not a prerequisite or consequence of breeding.
You do not need to be married to have cubs. When two unmarried lions in the pride have cubs, they are interviewed to assure they are not trying to evade a rank change for the male. This is primarily a concern when the male is a higher rank than the female. While they may be pressured to choose to marry, unmarried lions who breed within the pride are rarely forced to become mates unless they are suspected of actually being in a relationship.
No cubnapping into or out of the pride.
Anybody caught lying about cubs they bring into the pride will be punished. There are always guards on duty, stealing a cub would be very difficult. If you must, PM Ecavi to discuss possible plots.
The Breeding Rolling System
PM Ecavi, before or after cubs arrive, with parents and class preferences, if any. A class roll will be done in this thread and PMed back to you.
