Haunched on his shoulders, the aged male glared at the lands surrounding him. What was this new place? Brought here by other lions, Mizu was getting into a world of trouble. Either way, he had no choice. After all, when it came to a certain age in a lion's life, they had to depend on others for food and survival. These young ones obviously would help him gain what he wanted -- and in return he became one of their loyal slaves.
Oh, the troubled life of such a lion. He closed his eyes and tilted his head towards the sky, a grin on his maw. At least his family wasn't around to see what had become of him. They didn't need to see it. After all, even he was afraid of what his daughters would say to him. Leaving them as young cubs, they never had the chance to truly know him. Even though they knew more about him than their random mother. That lioness was long gone.
The thoughts made him slightly chuckle in his mind, like a young child. Oh my, how the time had flown by! It was just yesterday that he was born, and today he is an old man. Slowly but surely, the male walked slowly into the new lands curiously, awaiting orders from his higher ups. He couldn't do much without their instructions.

It was good to be settled again. Good to have a home, good to not have so many worries. He'd checked around the area several times already, making sure they were not accidentally on someone else's lands. They were all clear; they were home. Most of the search parties had been fetched, or were being called back, and those who had remained back at home were not here as well. The only minor annoyance was that a slave had ended up pregnant while they were traveling, not necessarily a bad thing but considering who it was.. well, Unyezi had to do his best to ignore the situation.
Wandering around, trying to take in every inch of their new home so he would know it by heart, he spotted the bright yellow lion sitting out in a seeming middle-of-nowhere (nowhere in particular, anyway). There was no mistaking the aged slave, he was very distinct within the pride. Now that they had settled into a home, the slaves were not kept under such a close watch- Unyezi felt that all the slaves left now were rather loyal, in their own ways.
"Mizu," the king called, jogging over to check on the older lion.

Peering back curiously with his bright red eyes, the old lion spotted the great king himself. Oh great. He was hoping that there wasn't already more orders for him to follow. After all, the strict enslavement watching was plenty enough for him as it was! Sighing, he approached Unyezi slowly with a bow.
"Good afternoon, my Lord. These new lands treating you well to you and the Queen?" He smiled lightly, as he paused a few feet from the King, and continued to stand. He didn't want to seem rude.

Unyezi could see that Mizu was less than thrilled to see him, which was not entirely unexpected from someone in the lower classes. He tried to be a good king, and due to his .. experience with slaves in the past, he was somewhat kinder than he had to be to them. Internal conflict was the last thing he needed, anyway. Mizu, however, was the only slave he could think of that was not a native member of the pride. The others would not very likely doubt their place in life.
"Good afternoon," he returned the greeting, "Yes, I think we're enjoying it here. How are you finding it? The travel was not too difficult, I hope."

"Ah, well ..." He paused for a moment, and thought about his choice of words. "... it was a little tough, but I made it just fine. My body is a little weak, but that is expected with a lion of my age. You'll know the feeling someday yourself!"
Maybe that wasn't quite the best choice of words. Swallowing louding, he backed up a bit, uncomfortable. "Well, I mean. ..."

Unyezi nodded, knowing that was the exact reason Mizu had decided to stay behind- and that that had been the reason he had agreed to let him stay behind. An old lion could be a hindrance on a search, and even if it was just hard upon him, he'd be no use to anyone. He didn't even realize the problem with what Mizu said until he swallowed and tried to correct it.
"No, I know what you mean," he assured the old lion, though he did note the reaction to his own words, "How long before you'll be well enough to help in the hunting? We're rather short of hunters, especially until my brother returns with the other priests and slaves."
