The Komphall desert hid many oasis in southern Th'estal, a few which were held to faction amongst the elements, some which were peacefully shared by all. The Gholann was a peaceful oasis, kept in check by unseen forces whenever different elements raised conflict with each other. Some believed that a demon lord, or possibly a guardian spirit kept his site on the place high in the sky, others believed it rode in on the various dust storms that passed through the adorned city within Gholann. Few knew of the truth behind the well kept nature of the place, few sought to find out.

Today, Ilik Groundshaper crept from his small rock cavern in the hidden oasis just north of Gholann. This morning, he would visit the neutral town and fulfill his duty this week. He stepped of the grassy lawn of his cavern onto the hot sands of the desert, quickly raising patches of soft soil from the deep earth to cool his elven feet. As he stepped, more earth rose from below to create a disappearing foot path under him. The Groundshaper possessed the ability to create and sculpt the earth, his native element. He was an outcast, though, banned from the forest of his birth for his teachings to fire and air elements. Now, he lived alone and out of existence until the time came again for him to intervene.

In contact with the higher spirits, Ilik was destined to become a watcher. He was given the oasis in the desert to protect, and to make sure it would progress undisturbed by war; thus, his identity was kept a secret for fear of barbaric notions to overthrow Gholann. To keep himself hidden from view, the Groundshaper used his earthen abilities to throw up walls of sand in front of him, allowing him to pass by unseen. Although the walls of sand were thick, Ilik left openings for merely his vision to go unblocked. If anyone were to spot him, he would resemble merely a shadow in a cloud of dust.

Onlookers of Gholann watched carefully as the dust storm rolled towards them. Those that knew of the storms effect on the oasis entered their homes and buildings, carefully locking windows and closing doors tightly behind them. Ilik watched as the streets became barren as he passed through the town. He was surprised to find many fire elements taking up shelter in Gholann, but was unwavering. As he exited the town free of disturbance, he drew from deep within his control of the dirts and sands.

As he exited south of town, Ilik tightened the dust storm into a sand funnel reaching the sky as a giant pillar. In the middle, he erected a twisting earthen tower reaching high above the oasis. Here, he perched, watching the town throughout the day to see if anything would arise after the storm had past.

Oricai walked in a sand storm his face covered by his scarf. Sandstorms were by his choice of words, a nuescence. But he knew the real cause of it, Torn' Elia was wanted his attention. Every time she wanted him to pay atention to her, that dragon always causes natural disasters; Hurricanes by the coast, tornadoes in the planes, sandstorms in the deserts. Oricai squinted to see through the swirling particles of sand. Oricai's eyes were not as fast as he wanted, he accidently hit a stone pillar.

"For the love of." Oricai grumbled through his scarf. He felt the stone. It was smooth and very hard. He continued around it and squinted harder, his temper was getting loose, he turned around and shouted to the sky. "Enough Torn'!" The sand storm stopped showing clear skies and the dragon hiding behind a cloud. Oricai turned around and continued to walk, he almost didn't see the Oasis. He smiled and pulled out a pouch from his side.

Raith wandered into the little oais of Glohan. He saw the storm pass and he was soon there. He sat down, and set up shop. In order to get some money or a place to stay Rait offered his services, writing, reading, healing and things like that. Raith waited, seeing a man call out to a dragon he was interested, but he stayed where he was.

Oricai slowly dipped his pouch into the water, allowing it to slowly fill. "No water like fresh water." He said as he lifted the pouch out of the water and back to his side. He turned around sharply to head back north, but stopped as he saw a merchant of some kind. He walked over there hoping he had some meat on him.

"Excuse me," Oricai said to the merchant. "Do you sell any form of meat?"

Raith looked at the man. "No, I don't. But I am a healer, and a scribe. I am also a metalsmith." Raith said. He figured his information was entirely useless but he said it anyway. It was good for people to know so they could spread the word.

"Well I need no healing." Oricai said scratching his head. A gust of wind blew causing a small dust devil. Oricai growled as he pulled his swords out. They both had stains on them as well a heavy dents. "I need these repaired and sharpened."

Ilik had felt the need for food and decided he might go explore the nearby oasis market for a good meal. He leapt from atop his sandy pillar, the dust storm still concealing it to the town. Using his grace, he steadily plummeted downward, using gusts of sand to slow his fall. Without a thud, he touched the cool earth. There, Groundshaper began to tread the soft sand into a conveyor of sorts, sifting it with his power to move him along at a quickened pass. Any passerby would see the watcher zooming past, but one close enough to tell would notice he almost stood still, allowing his element to do the work.
