NFEs in UU?

What are your views on a NFE classification system?


The two viable options:
1. NFE's with similar stats join their evolved partner in the same teir. Pokemon with different abilities, and stats are listed where they belong. Also, pokemon like Sneasle are generally thougt to be grandfathered in

For example: Trapinch, who is the NFE to Vibrava and Flygon, has a different (useful)ability in Arena Trap and different stats with a 100 base attack and minimal speed. Whereas Flygon has the abilty levitate and a 100 base speed stat along with 80 base sp. attack stat. Obviously, Trapinch belongs in UU to act as a trapper, and Flygon in OU to act as a sweeper.

Now the opposite: Monfero has the same ability as Infernape, Blaze, and similar stats with high speed, sp. attack, and attack making it a mixed sweeper. They do the exact same thing, just with lower stats.
Now, to stop litte Infernape-lites from running around in UU Monferno would join his big brother in OU, pretty much banning Monferno from all competative play.

2. Make everything UU unless listed.

Now, I don't want to be biased but can not see any positives to this. Please point out any as I am sure there are some.
Basically, with this you can either make UU a mini OU or you can expand the teir lists to great length listing off all of these pokemon.

Although some pre-evolutions do deserve to be on the list, such as what you said with trapinch/vibrava/flygon. However, with most pokemon such as starters who keep 1 ability all the way up, if you don't evolve them then they will be 1 or 2hko'd almost every time because of the noticeable difference in defenses and hp.

the only times i would want something on a list that isn't would be something like dragonair because it isn't 4X weak against ice like dragonite, or scyther because it isn't 4x weak against fire & much slower when it evolves into scizor.

I prefer the first option. Scyther, Trapinch, etc. make good UU Pokémon, so they shouldn't be thrown out from the tier. They're very different from their evolved forms, so people should get a chance to try them out competitively.

The other perspective on option 2 is that, even though many Pokémon function the same way as their OU counterparts, the game might still be different because of the original UU Pokémon.

I generally put all the NFEs in with that group, just as long as they have really crappy stats.

That's pretty much what I did. Of course, in Gen. 1 and 2, people used Dragonite and the NFE Dragonair so they could have 2 dragons with great stats.

And yeah, Rattata w/ endure and facade. >_< OUCH
