-- AIM Rp between Malkia and Mwezi'Mtoto ((Felyn and DFA)) Sometime in the afternoon, Malkia had decided to go on a walk. She didn't know where to or for how long, she hadn't planned any of that, she had just decided to walk. Her mind was in a mess, tumbling and twisting. She thought it had been bad when she was trying to figure out what she felt for Mwezi - now she was kind of blown away. Not that she wasn't happy, she was entirely happy, she was just a creature of logic and planning. This, most certainly, was not planned.
So there she sat, atop a hill with the sun sinking low on the horizon and the first hues of sunset beginning to streak the sky. Her heart was racing as she watched it, though her eyes were somewhat distant as her thoughts ran at a hundred miles an hour. It was a blessing, though a blessing she was unsure how to share .What would he think when he found out? She knew him well, but they'd never really even begun to discuss a situation like this. The large male, was, amusingly enough, out and about, just like Malkia was; he, however, was not thinking deeply. In fact, his thoughts as he padded along the field were right long the lines of 'I wonder... what would happen if I stepped on that rock's crack. Three times. In a row.' Regardless oh how utterly unproductive his mind was being though, none of this showed on the outside. Mwezi'Mtoto strode regaly along the pridal grouds, his eyes trained on a distant space, as if watching something beyond... that only he could see.
Then however, a scent caught his attention, and almost without noticing, his thoughts haulted from cracks and rocks, to Malkia and wondering what she was doing. So thus, to indulge his curiosity, the large white male veered right elegantly and after a while, reached the scaled female's side, "You look.... drowning in thought," he'd not gotten better at joked, but it was obvious it wa a mild tease, "That can not be healthy," he murmured almost emotionlessly as he sat himself by his side, too near for comfort, had they not become... well, an item, per se.
It'd never been voiced oficialy, and the words had never been said, but one look at the way Mwezi's eyes narrowed whenever a male nearer Malkia spoke volumes. She was a little surprised at his voice, causing her body to jerk and her head to whip around. Her heart pounded heavily, but as soon as she realized who it was, she let out a relieved sigh. That in itself was enough to show how deeply in thought she was - any sort of emotion like that was extremely out of character for her. She offered him a weak smile, taking the moment to catch her breath.
"That's because I've got something important on my mind," she said softly, leaning into him as he sat. No, they had never come right out and said anything about their relationship together but it was just sort of common knowledge at this point. They were a couple. Malkia, for one, didn't particularly like any females trying to get close to Mwezi - and she could see the look in his eyes when males came near her. In a way, it was a relief that they'd never had to say it. It just was.
She flickered her tail lightly behind her, her eyes drifting back to the sunset. She wasn't sure how to tell him, wasn't sure she was brave enough.A tilt of his head idicated his mild surprise; Malkia was usualy extremely aware of her surroudings. Startling her was hard, at best. Needless to say he was vaguely amused at he jerk she gave, however, as she let out a sigh, he contented himself with merely watching her, rather than comenting.
He sniffed the air almost as if to check they were alone before concentrating his full attention down upon her, "Please elaborate?" he blinked slightly, watching her lean in, acomodating himself better to support her full weight. Was it just him, or was she.... growing... somewhat? He had no idea pridal life could er... benefit lions THIS much. He kept his thoughts to himself, though, some sort of male self-preservation system keeping him silent. For the time being anyhow.
He seemed rather confused by her squirming and the way she seemed to move, restless, shiftng her weight from one foot to the other. She sighed as he asked her to elaborate - but she had been expecting him to none-the-less. What really got her at this point was that she had even sighed at all. Something about the lives she was sheltering and the thoughts in her head was making her mind not function quite the same. Where before she was capable of hiding emotions, now she showed them easily. They were out and obvious before she even had the time to think about it. That was bothersome, but no need to dwell on it at the moment.
"I.." she began, then paused, chewing at the inside of her cheek nervously. One paw shifted to stroke against the fluffy thing that he always carried, using it for comfort. She took a deep breath, finally, and said the words she was thinking. "Mwezi, I'm pregnant."
She didn't look up at him, but continued to toy with the fluff. She wasn't sure she wanted to see his reaction.

Indeed; he'd noticed the changes that had come over her, and at first, Mwezi had fussed rather insistently over her, figuring she MUST have been sick. The lioness had waved him away several times in the past few days though and finaly, the lord had shrugged it off, reaching a single conclusion; Females.
Whatever passed through the mind of a female, was inevitably.... twisted in a way Mwezi was sure no male alive would ever be able to understand. Where as he saw something, and pointed it out, there were many times Malkia would turn to stare at him aghast, claiming that OF COURSE things weren't like THAT. Again he felt the mild concern creeping around the corners of his mind, however, not a moment had passed and he shoved it away; after all, he did not wish to fuss again, only to be told off. There were only so many blows his ego could take.
Pausing for a moment,he blinked as she stroked the fluff he carried over his shoulder, almost mildly amused at the fact she'd taken comfort from it. And then... the bomb was dropped, and Mwezi's mind stopped all it's functions. He blinked languidly on the outside, once, twice, and his maw opened, only, a sharp breath sweeping in, only to feel his jaws close, no sound coming out.
Frowning inwardlyy, he kicked his mind into gear, going over all what she'd done and said in the span of the last few minutes, then, after figuring he'd gotten all the facts right... he opened his mouth and tried again, "I beg your pardon?" he asked as he looked down at her, as if not particularly sure he'd heard what he thought he'd heard.
A few seconds after she'd spoken, Mwezi had decided that the world surely didn't need more magnificent creatures such as he, however, a few seconds after, when his mind was able to digest the info, he toyed around with the idea. Soon enough, he'd come to the conclusion that perhaps this was... in fact, a blessing. Mini Malzi's! Mini Mwekias! His mind suplied giddily, and then he reached down to where she toyed with his fluff, "How long?" he leaned to groom the back of her ear and head; the words were not uttered, but the acceptance of the fact after his mind had processed it, was there, plain to see.
In fact, he felt rather giddy.
She frowned at his first response, tensing slightly as she heard the words. They didnt sound disapproving, but they certainly werent the happy answer she was hoping to find. If he didn't want the cubs, she wasn't quite sure what she was going to do. It wasn't as if they could take back what had already happened, but the thought of Mwezi disapproving of this set her stomach in a twist.
Then, of course, she heard his next words, felt that gentle lick against her ear. Her heart lifted, a deep breath filling her lungs. She knew him, knew the tone of those words, the way he touched her - he did want them. She supposed even Mwezi could show surprise at times. If that was all it was, then she was glad that she no longer had to worry over whether or not he was willing to be a part of their expanding family.
"I'm not sure," she said softly, finally finding the words to put her thoughts into motion. She let him groom her, let her body relax against him once more as she relished in the moment, "a few weeks, a month at most I think." She turned her dark eyes to look up at his paler ones, a soft smile lingering on her face.
After all, Mwezi, in all his splendor... was only a lion. And male, at that; there were times (few, very few and scarse), that he was willing to admit to not being the adequate being to handle a given situation. Being confront with pregnancy (when did this happen again? Oh lord, had it been the first time? .... second? When....?) was mildly shocking to him.
However, deep down in his mind, he did a small jig and a victory dance, for after all... he WAS indeed only male, and his thoughts were screaming that OH she was his. Good and proper. Of course, these thoughts were hard to read on the outside (if readable at all) and after a particularly vivid image during which his mental self sang out loud, Mwezi'Mtoto closed his eyes to dispell whatever spell he'd fallen prey to, concentrating instead in the grooming of his mate's neck.
"I.... see," he drawled after a particularly long lick, doing his best to keep his mind blank; he forced himself to think about his white pelt... clean white pelt. But that inevitably lead to wha he'd done with Malkia, which lead to the victory dance, which lead to him sweeping his mind clean again and starting the whole vicious circle right on over, "Hmm...?" he blinked and recofused his attention (again) down on Malkia, swiftly doing the calculations in his mind, "Ah," he said, as if he'd just solved a particularly vexing problem, "We shall have to... make some preparations then?" a pause, "Are you alright though?"
Malkia wasn't exactly thinking the same thoughts as great Lord Mwezi at that particular moment. Sure, she realized now that this meant she had every claim to him in the public eye, that they were pretty much officially mates at this point. What she was truly thinking about at the moment, however, was the fact that she was going to be a mother.
She had never really thought about having a family, though she supposed she had wanted one on some level. Now, however, she was truly beginning to consider the joy that would accompany it. She wasn't sure how to be a good mother, but she was almost positive that with Mwezi at her side, they would raise a beautiful family.
She let herself relax into him as he continued to groom her, eyes half shutting as she just fell into the feeling. It was a nice feeling, to be close to him in such a manner, to have him concentrating on her and her alone (or so she assumed, at least). She might be in for hard months ahead, but for now, she was content.
"I'm fine," she said softly, tilting her head to look up at him again, "just a little more tired than I would usually be." She felt that was going to happen, and probably get worse as the days passed, but she was willing to go through it. "But yes, we'll have to make preperations - and inform the king. I understand we'll have to have the birth witnessed." She didn't mind that so much, but she wished to get everything in order before she got too big to really be doing much.
Such were the diferences of males and females; while Mwezi tried desperately to STOP doing his mental jig, he could practicaly feel Malkia radiating... something. Something or other. Something or other that was... not particularly helping in stoping the utterly vexing mental jig.
Between squishing mental images and grooming Malkia's neck, Mwezi tried to think back, trying to remember his father; he'd... not see him, really. He'd been raised by his mother to lead the pride, and though his uncle had acted as father, it couldn't be the same. He had no idea what was expected of him, but then again... so long he was himself, he figured he'd do a magnificent job; he always did whatever it was he did, rather magnificently. Reassured in his thoughts, he climbed back down from cloud nine, to look down at her, "Good," he rumbled as he lifted his head.
After a moment, he nodded, as if he'd just reached some sort of an important decision and slowly stood - reaching to touch his maw to the side of her neck, nudging her, "Come," the fact she was tired could be solved; she needed rest. And thus, rest she would have, as far as he was concerned, "All will be alright... it will be fine," he reassured her, "Now, we shall rest though," he told her softly as he padded towards their den. They'd likely need to stay away from the main dens for a while, while the birthing took place. He wasn't particularly trained in female habits, but he did know the mother tended to be agresive a bit into her gestation.

She watched him for a long few moments as he stood there, considering him, taking in everything. It seemed almost unreal at this point. Not so long ago they had been strangers and she chastizing him for trying to make a tree move. The thought brought a smile to her face, but it couldn't push down what she was feeling.
They were going to be a family, an even bigger family. She, Rin, and Mwezi were going to be tied together once and for all. The cheetah cub, of course, would have to be told, and that thought popped into her head as soon as she started thinking about families in general. Rin was going to have siblings. Somehow, she thought the little girl would be pleased.
"Alright," she said with a smile, pushing herself up from the ground and beginning to walk after him. She needed to rest now, gain her strength. Soon, she was sure, they'd have their paws full.
