um, I write poetry hardly never, but I did write one long one for a project & I'll post it, I suppose. Keep in mind my poetry's pretty bad.

I have never read the books the fanfictions are based on. Well, the Anjali one I have never read. I am not a fan of Harry Potter, even though I have read a few of those books. xd By the way, I am sure your poems aren't that bad!

There are two,
Where there should be one.
And the books don't say
What should be done.

My heart is torn,
And I cannot cry.
My eyes are open,
and my cheeks are dry.

They cannot see
what they have done.
But I see too clearly,
and I want to run.

But run I cannot,
for now you too know,
If my heart is with them,
I cannot go.

Good spelling and grammar in that poem, I can see. ^_^ I like the choice of end rhyme, too. Your poem is simple, yet complicated. It makes me think. I like it.

You are welcome! Honestly though, I think you can expand a bit on the poem if you are not done editing or revising yet. I think you can add another stanza or two without making the poem too clumped.

Thanks. Poetry's not really a strong point with me, and if I ever go back and revise it, [prolly wont] I'll let you know :]

I am searching for a long, fairly good [in my opinion] poem [two or so pages double spaced] on Queen Elizabeth.
But I seemed to have misplaced it. It's odd 'cause I had it two weeks ago.

Weird... xD;; I wrote a story a long while back about Tapeworms and Giant Squid (don't ask; I was feeling random when I wrote it) and I just found it today! biggrin It was dated 2002. Wow... xD;; A long time ago. It was a short story.

Yay! It's not as good as I orignially thought, but hey, it's good enough for me!

Queen Elizabeth I

The year is fifteen forty-seven,
and my father is now in heaven.

London is filled with sorrow,
Eagerly it seeks the morrow.

It's filled with discord and unhappiness,
This monarchy has become a big mess.

My brother Edward, only ten,
Becomes the new king when Big Ben

Chimes thrice.
Ding
Ding
Ding

I am fourteen,
Very green,

But Ed is still less prepared
For the work entailed.

I am afraid being king will kill him,
The luster in his eyes will grow dim.

This burden is too much!
He needs a mother's loving touch!

But because she is dead,
Ed will be king instead.

The crown is brought down on his brow,
His face is not happy, scrunched up like a sow.

All hail the new king, the trumpets blast,
And finally, the coronation is over at last.

My sister Mary looks somewhat sad,
But inside I bet she's seething mad.

For she is the eldest at thirty-one,
And should be queen when it's all said and done.

But she, like me, has been cast from the line,
Never to see a crown, to inherit a gold mine.

Edward parades around town square,
His innocent eyes meeting some icy stares.

At last we return to the castle tiredly,
Edwards greets his bed with glee.

Now I retreat to my quarters at last,
I close my eyes and lay down fast.

The dream world, it takes me,
Across the century to see,

Dreams of my father, my sister and brother,
The one with the hidden face is my mother.

One by one, they fall away,
Death takes them all, just not today.

Eventually I'm the only one who stands,
Left alone to guard my lands.

In come the Spanish, with their ships,
I am here, a speech pouring from my lips.

The crowd, it cheers, ready to take up arms.
And I am sure England will not befall any harms.

The Armada retreats in fear,
The crowd begins to cheer!

My eyes open quickly, as I jump out of bed,
Thoughts of the nation circle in my head.

I rush to my writing desk, smiling with glee,
And write down the speech that comes to me.

For now I know that whatever may come,
The nation of England will stay as one.

*Just a note, I wrote this as a project a long time ago, the dates should be historically accurate, but last year I read some historical fiction and realized that King Henry was not as loved as I orignially thought when writing this. Uh yeah, and just in case you didn't know, Ed, Elizabeth, and Mary all had different mothers.

Hm... In the second stanza do you mean "London?"

And, I love the poem! Historical poems are always so much fun to read. You stuck to the facts right? Historical nonfiction? I like historical nonfiction poems because you have to stay with the truth, but yet, express creativity. That can be hard, but you did a great job!

Oops spelling error, good catch. :]

Yeah I had to do a lot of research and math for this poem, it had to be historically accurate, and about a famous someone [and we had to have literary elements like Otomotopeia and stuff]. Actually, a few months after I wrote this I read The Other Boleyn Girl [excellent book, excellent movie] and some of P.G.'s other works. Anyway I took some creative liberties on how the characters are portrayed but it was fun.
