The view in this new home of thiers certainly was beautiful. Lela wasn't one to take kindly to change, but she couldn't deny that one fact when comparing the old and the new. Of course, given the chance, she would've taken the place of her birth over this plateau, but that just wasn't an option. The herb so important to their way of life was gone from that place. And for someone like Lela, and for a pride like this, tradition was more important than location.
On the bright side of all of this was this amazing view the lioness was now staring at. Since there were no rogues to be watched over, she used her backwards sleeping schedule to chek out the territory more thoroughly. That, and watch the moon. She was sitting with her tail curled around and over her front paws, with her ears slightly back. She felt so small staring up at the blanket of stars, and the moon to top it off. At the same time, though, she felt a certain comfort about it. With the moon, she didn't have to guard herself and keep up an image. With her pride, she did. She had to look good for her brother. Really, the king had never told her that, but she had just taken it upon herself. After all, she was sister to royalty. She had to keep up the family image. At that moment, however, all she had to do was stare up at the night sky in awe.

Angani was doing quite the same as the king's sister was on this night. When there was no rogue to be watched, the lion would wander the territory, doing his job- guarding. He felt no sadness from having left behind his old home. Sure, he wished he hadn't had to leave, but there was no choice! Besides, this would be a bold new beginning, not a dull continuation. A new life, a new plateau, new sights to see... the lion was in heaven! He liked both places equally.
Then a different sight appeared before his bi-colored eyes. There was Kathlela ahead, sitting with her back to him. Angani knew her, probably better than most in the Pride. He often worked with her. She would "drug" the rogues, he would make sure they didn't escape. The pair of them were both good at their jobs.
"The Great Lion knows how to make a pretty picture, doesn't he?" Angani said as he approached her, sitting down at one side. He, too, had a great appreciation for the night sky- part of the reason he wandered at night. Sure, his job was to guard, but why ignore the gorgeous image? "Wonderful night for skygazing... Isn't it?" he asked, turning his eyes from the night sky to the lioness he was sitting next to.

Lela turned her head quickly at the sound of feet, having been in a near trance before. She still had those new home jitters, that feeling that something bad might be lurking just around the corner. It wasn't so much that she was paranoid or anything, it was just that she wasn't quite as familiar as she'd have liked to be with the area quite yet. She was pleased to see Angani, however, and smiled warmly. Since she hadn't had the need to work with him in a little while, it was good to be able to spend some quality time. When he sat down beside her, she smirked, noting how much he blended into the background and how much she stood out. She didn't stand out nearly as much as her littermate, of course, but she still had the tendency to glow on nights when the moon was large.
"Sure does." She directed her attention back up at the sky. It was more stunning than a sunset, in her opinion. The sunset had many more extravegant colors, sure, but it didn't have the stars or the moon. Of course, being raised in the pride that worshiped the moon did give her quite the biased. She was attracted to the glam and glitter of the night sky, though. It was so sparkly, like a pair of eyes. And then there was the one eye, the moon. The whole thing was breath taking. "It really is a stunning night. This place... it's a good new home."

Angani paused, staring skyward again for a brief moment before lowering his eyes again. "Sure is. We're blessed. I pity any creature that doesn't... stop and appreciate the magnitude of it all." Even though Ang didn't know about other planets, galaxies, universes... He knew that he was very small when compared to it all. And that was at least 10 times better than any sunset.
"And yes, it's a great new place. Perfect for skygazing, just like our last home was. I predict many good things will happen here..." He said with a slight nod as his eyes scanned the lands. "It has great potential, I feel." He turned back to the lioness and smiled.
"How did the journey go for you? We didn't bump into each other much while we were in-transit." He asked, making conversation. Besides, he was genuinely interested in how his "co-worker" got along during the move.

Lela thought about the many nights she'd spend staring up at the sky here. Of course, her job practically demanded she do it. After all, nights upon nights of taking care of a sleeping body did get a little... boring. Lela wasn't about to admit that aloud, but it was true. So, she often spent a great deal of her time lying next to the sleeping rogue and star gazing. She'd become so familiar with the night sky at her home, and the changes it made through out the year. This sky had a different view. Yet another reason Lela was still on gaurd. Not that she was never on gaurd, but here she was even more so. At least for now. "At least we know our pride can appreciate it." She looked back down at Ang and smiled brightly. "And all of the generations to come."
"The journey went... well." She paused, trying to come up with a way to describe it. Most of her journey was spent trying to motivate those in her traveling party. She didn't interact much with half of them, though, since they weren't always actually together in one large group. "I've decided I'm not one for travel." She laughed lightly. It was her first time traveling anywhere, and hopefully her last. She liked the regularity of normal life far more than the suspense and surprise of moving from place to place. "How did you fare?"

"Heh, I fared about the same as you. I'm not one for travel. I missed my job too much." As odd as that undoubtedly sounded, Ang actually liked his job. Or rather, he liked having more of a purpose than just looking for a plant. "I'm glad that we've finally settled. Our lives will finally get back to normal." He said with a grateful nod. While it was nice to get out and have a change in things, he did like pridal life. "I found something on the trip, though. A leaf, it wasn't the herb, obviously, but it sure was really similar! I had to take it over to Shira, but it wasn't the right thing. Other than that, it was kinda boring," he said cheerily. That was quite a rush he'd gotten when he found it, though. He remembered even what it looked like.
The male smiled. "Well, it's a good thing we're back. I think a lot of lions are like us, wanted to find a home so much more than meandering around."

Lela, like her friend, enjoyed her work. It was something that served a much needed purpose. Well, maybe not at that exact moment, but when the pride got moving again, she'd be back to a level of importance. It also allowed her the free time to relax and, occasionally, socialize. Though she honestly did more relaxing than socializing. It wasn't that she didn't like the company of others or anything like that, it was just that she had a tendency to wander off to think on her own. It was very soothing to just sit in quiet sometimes.
"Yes. It's nice to know that we have a place to be safe." She smiled and nodded. Not that they were particularly in danger while traveling, of course. Lela hadn't been paranoid during the journey here. It was just that now that they had someplace that could be labeled 'home', it felt like they were safer, more cozy even. With all of the lions back together, things were starting to feel more like a giant family again instead of a fractured pride. "Do you know if all of our pridemates are back with us yet?"

"I'm glad to be home too. We'll have a lot of time to catch up, you and I, too." Ang said with a soft smile. He'd worked with Lela a little bit before, but he really wanted to get to know her better. He'd gone from fighting in the war, to a little bit of his job, to needing to move, he hadn't really worked it that long. Long enough, though, to be good at what he did, his muscles showed that. And all the travel- it was there etched into his form too. Ang was strong and capable of staying up for days on end, if need be, since that was part of his job.
"I think there are a few stragglers, but I'm not entirely sure who they are. I'd need to meander around our new lands and figure out who's all here, but it seems like we're a few short. A few familiar faces that I have yet to see, you know?" He asked, looking back at Lela, from which he got a little rush, though he blocked it out as much as he could. He'd always thought she was beautiful, as he was sure every other male in the pride was thinking, which was mainly why he blocked it for now.

In their short time working together, Lela had already noticed just how in shape her friend and partner of sorts was. Of course, many males were well muscled under their coats. It was just that there was something different about Ang. She had always shrugged it off before, since there had been much more important things to tend to than admiring a male. There had been the war, then the short calm inbetween that was filled with the grief of mourning loved ones, and then the shortage of herbs came. Then there was the journey to find a new home. It seemed like for the first time in a long time, Lela was finally able to appreciate the simpler things in life, such as a handsome lion in her pride. "Yes," she smiled warmly, "we'll have plenty of time to catch up on everything now."
The lioness was a bit sad to hear there were still missing members. She hadn't really gone around herself and taken a head count, so she had just assumed most if not all the pride was back together. She disappointed herself in this. After all, she was sister to the king, daughter to the late royal pair, and she carefully kept an image for the small pride that she was up to date on all affairs. It seemed important to her, at least, that everyone thought kindly of her, since she was so close to the current royals. Image was so very important. "They'll make it here in time, hopefully. I'm sure my brother will send someone out for them, if he hasn't already."

"Yes, I'm sure he has, if he hasn't. I always keep an eye to the horizon for anyone coming this way. They could be an intruder, but they could just as easily be another one of us, making their way back. He reflected momentarily on the journey, he had been with Unyezi's search party.
"Your brother is a fine leader, I'm sure we'll get everyone home safely soon," he said lightly, green tail flicking behind him. "He was very good with keeping our party together, which I don't imagine is an easy task."
The sound of the night surrounded the pair, crickets and frogs sang in the dark, with the occasional sounds of other lions. He enjoyed being in these simple moments... he'd had them with his coworker before, but this one was special. The Pride had just reassembled, he was glad to have company in these moments.
