Aleu was resting beside an old tree, her blue eyes shut slightly as she purred and rolled onto her side. She was happy even though she was alone. Her son had come back, her life was now less stressful, and as of today she felt alive. True, she would miss her first love, but... for now she seemed content just relaxing in, listening to the soft sound of the crickets song.

She was lean and tiny in frame, but this mother of five was strong willed and ready for anything. Aleu had lived a hard life up until this point, and from now on she vowed to be happy. She would be.

Mbwa was never to be found in a good mood these days. His anger seemed to know no bounds for weeks as he left the decadent remains of his coalition's lands. They had been a band, albeit a strange one with species of almost every size, from lions to maned wolves, even cheetahs and wild dogs, but a band none the less. Proud son of the leader of their tribe, and thus given the title of Prince by default. He was a proud leader as well, gruff, aggressive and even no-nonsense and a bit slow, but compassionate and always taking good care of his people. It had been horrifying to come across the scene that he did. Bodies strewn all through their lands, no regard for age whatsoever

Someone so young, carrying such a heavy burden, and there was still a lingering look of murder in his eyes as he stalked some days relentlessly across the plains. But today he was tired. So, as he spotted the lioness lingering in the shade there was no ill intent in his eyes, just a weary and angry stare. Her countenance did give him pause, though he'd never say so so eloquently. For a moment he thought it must be the figure of his mother he saw, but on second glance after forcibly blinking some exhaustion from his eyes he realized, no, her pelt was too pale.

Annoyed now, he growled a bit, but made no move to approach her or appear threatening. Except for the growl, you'd think he was only as harmless as his lack of manners suggested, like an anti-social dog.

At his noises Aleu lifted her head and frowned, looking around rather dully. She had not noticed him before, so when her eyes fell upon his form she stopped and gazed for a moment, eyeing him and his figure. She always seemed to get lost in others, the way they moved, looked, Aleu gave them a good study before speaking words, always it seemed.

Moving herself to stand she smiled somewhat she spoke out, though apart of her knew he didn’t want anything to do with her.

“You can have my spot if you want, it’s cool in the shade.”

The male was seemingly unphased by her staring, and only continued to glower until he almost asked what she was staring at (incidentally enough), but Aleu beat him to speaking. At a bit of a temporary loss for thought, you could almost -see- his gears grind to an abrupt hault. Never one to temper his tongue and bite back his thoughts, Mbwa moved a bit so that he was facing her more head on, but didn't draw near yet.

"A total stranger just started growling at you, and you offer them your spot in the shade??" He balked with a furrow of his angry brows.

“Perhaps I don’t think of it that way.”

She nodded to herself and gave him a slight smile. She had no sore bones in her body… Aleu couldn’t recall the last time she was in a fight or had a real conflict with anyone. Not in many years had she ever been in a situation where she needed to be forceful. She just wanted to be kind, really.

She wasn’t looking to gain anything from it. So she stepped aside, moving closer to him, walking right past him and a few feet away, where she sat down, gazing at him again for am moment before turning to gaze at the sun.

The tree that offered the shady spot was right in front of him now, no longer the female’s resting place. It was free game.
