Its official, the Batcave (back where this whole thing really started and found a life of its own beyond punk) is re-opening on the 11th of July.

This marks, in a way, not only the 25th anniversary of the worlds first Goth club, but of Goth as a (sub?)-culture.

I'd totally go.
If I lived there.
And if I was old enough.
And if I had any goth friends to go with.

The club like the actual original building?
Alien Sex Fiend and the original lineup of Specimen are doing a 25th anniversary "Batcane Reunion" tour, and I know DJ Hamish is still around but I hadn't heard anything about that.

Put simply, its the place where it all began. It did live Gothic rock, as well as darkwave, new wave and punk. It is the proto-type for all Goth culture that followed.

Without the Batcave, none of this would have happened. We owe that little club in Soho our whole thing.

If there's a tour, I can only pray that I can get into a city close enough to see it (assuming that this tour will go into the states).

I would like to see this place because I have heard many people talk about it and want to experience it for myself.

Last time I saw a picture of what the old building had become, it was painted in a bunch of pastel colors and had some sort of tropical theme.
