It was almost night, a time when Aureole was the most restless. It seemed almost as though she barely slept, only catching very few hours around dawn. The only plague that she felt from it was that night was when she thought. She thought about almost everything, even the things she didn't want to think about much less dwell on.
At this point in time, she did her best to focus solely on the horizon, the sun dipping down below the horizon. It managed to paint the sky such pretty colors during its farewell while the moon only offered light. As it was, she scarcely bothered to give the sun attention. The moon was a comfort, not blazingly bright but calm and collected. The moon had a wisdom the vain sun could not bother to possess. But as futile as it was, she was trying to avoid thinking for the moment.

Unyezi was out looking for Aureole, even though his little search for some way to make her happy hadn't been more successful than Dinaledi's suggestion of starting a family. The king decided to avoid that awkward conversation for now and instead thought he could simply make an effort to be more affectionate, he certainly could try harder to make things less awkward. It was about time, really! It wasn't surprising that Aure was not at the dens at this time of day, though. If anyone knew of her sleeping patterns, it would be Unyezi- especially now.
It was, however, pure luck that he happened to find her when he did. Smiling, he jogged to catch up with her, "Aure~!"

Aureole caught herself smiling, pleasantly surprised. Whatever it was would do her good, keep her distracted. And of course, if it was just friendly conversation, she could always use the company. It wasn't exactly that she wasn't unhappy. It was more so that she was a bit too serious and she felt the affects of it.
"Hey. What's going on?" She asked casually.

"Nothing," he said, coming up beside her and nudging her playfully. Unyezi was rather happy to see her happy, at least, and setting out simply to spend time with someone you loved.. well, it wasn't exactly going to put you in a bad mood. And besides, the better mood he was in, the more likely it was to rub off on her.
"Just wanted to come see what you were doing," he said, "Everything is nice and calm tonight, we don't have much we have to worry about tonight."

She smiled to him. "I'm not doing much," she replied. If only he knew that even if there wasn't something to worry about, she'd think about something that would be worth worrying about even if she had already thought about it past the point of worrying. She desperately felt like she needed an on and off switch for her brain. "There... isn't much to do tonight. I really just wander," she admitted almost bashfully, conveniently leaving out her mode of thought.

"Have you found anywhere really interesting?" he asked curiously when she mentioned wandering. Unyezi was sure they both had been doing a lot of that lately, since it was really up to them to know as much about their new land as they could. Perhaps he'd missed something she'd found or vice versa, "Any specials places in our lovely new home?"

Aureole licked her lips in thought, trying to think of something interesting. She knew of some quirks it had but tried to think of something that he would really appreciate. Then she thought of it. She hadn't thought of it immediately since the time she had been there, she had thought it a fluke of nature. After all, she had no one to test her sanity at night. It was possible she imagined things.
"Well~" she said looking at him while making a face. "There's this pass in the mountains. The mountains join together for much of the base and the pass is right through the cleavage of the two. If you stand just between them, your voice echoes into the valley."

Unyezi had to hold back a laugh at the face she made as she tried to think of a good place she'd found in her little walks out at night. It was not an unfamiliar face to the king, though it was one he wasn't sure he'd seen in quite some time. That, if nothing else, really helped keep his mood stay bright and cheery.
"I haven't looked too much into the mountains," he confessed with a small smile, "Let's go take a look."

She smiled. Being able to feel powerful enough to echo into a valley felt great even if the echoing was probably only just around the pass itself. It felt as though one were echoing into the valley. And that was cool in of itself.
She smiled at him almost joyfully youthful as though she were showing him the most exciting thing in the world. But really it was the feeling that a weight had been resting on her shoulders and was now lifted. Maybe she had subconsciously made herself think at night and not be able to sleep. As it was, she felt comfortable right now.

Unyezi was very intrigued by this little spot in the mountains that Aure had found. Maybe they could make a game out of this kind of thing, she would show him one spot and then another night he would find somewhere interesting to show her.. and it could continue, until they inevitably learned where everything was. And that was something they needed to do, certainly, as they were responsible for every corner of it.
"Well, go on," he said, nudging her again, "Lead the way!"
He was clearly rather excited, it was nice to just have some fun. To have nothing to worry about but keeping yourself entertained for the evening! Of course they would be alert, but they could allow themselves the fun of going off to the mountains for a quick visit.

As if voicing his opinion, she looked over her shoulder at him. "This means you owe me. Tomorrow you'll have to show me one. Shouldn't be too long of a walk if we hurry." Of course another great thing about the pass was the view so it wasn't exactly a one-benefit thing. All that mattered was that he was the type of guy who'd appreciate it.
She picked up the pace in hopes that they would get there with plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. When they finally arrived, she stood at the pass slightly out of breath but still standing with pride as though she had made the pass herself.

Unyezi smiled inwardly when Aure seemed to read his mind, but he was not too surprised for such things often happened with friends. It wouldn't do to be awfully surprised every time Aure or Lela mentioned something he'd thought about.
"Then you better hope you're setting the standard as high as it sounds," he commented with grin as he followed after his mate. It wouldn't be easy to find something of equal impressiveness, especially where she had done just as much exploring as him. Already his mind started to go over his options, but he stopped when they arrived. He peeked out past Aure, and glanced back at her with a smile. It was time to test the echo-theory. Jumping out to stand in the pass, he cleared his throat to indicate what he was about to do. Then he roared, not too loud and not too long or he wouldn't have been able to hear it bounce on the rocks.

She smiled proudly and raised an eyebrow. "Cool, huh?" There wasn't too much she found amazing but then again, she hadn't gotten out much so maybe there were other similar things to intrigue her. After all, some might consider the echo rather silly.
Suddenly she heard a ruckus and looked into the valley. A flock of birds had woken from their sleep and taken flight. She let out a light laugh, knowing that where they were, they weren't any danger to anything in the valley and neither was anything there a threat to them. Aureole looked at him with a quizzicl smile as if to say "what do you think of that."

What Unyezi found most interesting about the little echoing pass was that it was not something they could have found in their old home, before they had moved. Dens sometimes echoed, but this was much more interesting, much more impressive. It as especially amusing when the birds suddenly woke and fluttered away- the sound of their wings echoing through the mountain now.
"Very cool," he agreed glancing back with a curious smile, "How did you find it?"

She smiled. "Well I'm not entirely sure how I first found it." She replied. "I just sort of wander all around and I guess just sort of found myself here." She looked around and turned to him. "This is sort of nice, you know. Being up here. It's like escaping from everything. Very relaxing, you know?"
