Everyone wants to wield its power, good or bad. But...first, one must seek the magical blade. One must journey on to find it. One must have the will to endure whatever pains he will come across on this harsh journey.

Is the Excalibur really worth it?

Plotline

King Arthur has sadly died, and all of Camelot grieved for him. But, a few months later, everyone soon realized that King Arthur's enchanted sword, Excalibur, is nowhere to be seen. It is not with his body, in his grave, or in Camelot. Where is the sword? Everyone wonders. Since there is no current king, many old sages meet and decide that the first person to find Excalibur, and wield it successfully, will become the rightful king. Just as King Arthur had retrieved the sword Excalibur from a stone, the next King would find Excalibur and brandish it for all to see.

Chatter and gossip waft through the springtime air. Everyone wonders who wound dare quest for the sword, and surprisingly, many people do. But...not all of the people searching for Excalibur are pure of heart and kind in spirit. Some are, but others are malicious and malevolent. Now, it would not just be a search for the sword...it would be a battle.

How to fill in the Profile:

All of it should be very self-explanatory. But, for 'Intentions,' you should put in: good, bad, or neutral. Good would be pure of heart, and generally a good person. Bad would be evil, and maybe a bit insane - in the negative way. Neutral would be neither good nor bad, and could lean either way.

For weapons, only medieval weapons are allowed. No guns, no bombs, no grenades please. Lances, Swords, Bows, Daggers, Knives, Maces, and Clubs and such are allowed.

[1] Follow all of the Guild Rules, and the Gaia ToS.
[2] You are allowed up to three characters, so as long as you can keep up actively with all of them.
[3] This is intermediate, but beginners and advanced RPers are allowed too.
[4] PM all profiles to me -- DON'T post the profiles.
[5] Please keep it PG-13.
[6] Romance is allowed, even encouraged, but absolutely no cybering.
[7] Please remember this takes place in medieval England. No modern-day or un-medieval technology like guns, televisions, lasers, etc.
[8] Even though this RP takes place in medieval England, it's not simply historical. Elements of fantasy are allowed, even encouraged. (ex. You may encounter an ogre, or perhaps a dragon on your travels. Maybe you become cursed by a witch. Perhaps there are even some medieval alchemists.) Just no sci-fi fantasy, like aliens or traveling through time please.
[9] This whole RP will only take place in Great Britain, and nowhere else. The Excalibur is some where in Great Britain...maybe England, maybe Scotland, or any other place in Great Britain. You can refer to other places, like France, but try not to physically go there in the RP.

Bio: She was orphaned at the age of 7, and learned to fend for herself in the harsh world of medieval England. She lived in the streets with some other children, and some old knights who were long forgotten for their noble deeds. The knights taught the orphans the ways of chivalry, and combat. Now, Lily is looking for the Excalibur so she can get to it before any "evils" can. She knows that many 'bad' people are after the magical sword. The only reason she wants to find the sword is to protect it. She has no intentions of using it for herself, and anyhow, she doubts she would be the rightful King (or Queen for that matter). Her horse is Fog, a male misty-gray colored appaloosa with white dapples on the rump and also a pure white mane and tail. She had him since she was 10 years old, and he is very loyal to her. When she first got him, he was just a little foal. But now, he is a beautiful stallion.
Personality: Lily is talkative and fun-loving! She likes to joke around, and tries to keep a positive attitude. Lily smiles a lot, and is young at heart. She is not naive though, and knows when to not trust someone. Many people think she comes off as naive, even though she's not. Lily hates to kill people, and usually, tries to avoid killing people if possible. If she's in danger, she tries to disable her opponents instead of killing them.

Bio: Fleur was born in Paris, France but moved to England when she was 15. She speaks both French and English fluently, and when she speaks English, there is no accent. Fleur's family is very wealthy - filthy rich as some would say. She is after the Excalibur for "greedy" purposes. She doesn't even care about becoming the King or the Queen or whatever; she just wants the sword. She just wants a new sword that works really, really well since she is super pampered since she was a little kid. She just thought, to her random whim, that she always wanted a 'royal' sword like the Excalibur. And since it was up for grabs, she decided she would want the beautiful sword that is Excalibur.
Personality: She has a thirst for power and is basically a classic villain. But...she is really spoiled, though smart. She has many henchmen, and many luxuries. Fleur can fight really well, but hates to get her outfit or hair dirty or messed up. She cares a lot about her 'beauty' and appearance. Fleur is also quite a flirt.
Weapons: A finely wrought iron scimitar (but, all her henchmen can lend her other weapons)

Bio: Karn is a young man who is from a different nation described by the people of Camelot as a mere rogue city but to him for 18 years it was the world. But when he came of age he left seeking his fortune as a mercenary which he excelled at, but now he has set his sights on the throne of Camelot.
Personality: Strong, protective, and happy, he doesn't really care about the sword or Camelot; he just wants to make a name for himself at all costs, but he will help those who are need. This causes him to constantly second guess himself or think to much so he is very confused when the two parts of his personality are sent against each other.
Weapons: Hammer fists (just two gauntlets that have extra metal on the knuckles that make his attacks stronger, but he is known to enchant them so who knows what element empowers them now.)

Bio: Luna was raised by a small family of hunters and farmers. She grew up on a tiny pig farm, learning the sword basics and hunting for her family. Lucan, her pet wolf, and Julian, her pet falcon, has always been by her side, ever since she was a little girl. Once she heard the sword was missing, she made it her quest to find it. She wants to be the queen, but not for greed. She wants to do more to help the people of Camelot, and being queen might just be the edge she needs.
Personality: Luna is energetic and can never stay in one spot for too long. She loves to explore and is quite the trouble maker, although she doesn't mean to be. She tries to be the leader, but it hasn't worked out for her so far.

Bio: A young witch who was brought up evil, Isis wants the sword for her own greedy purposes. Her family raised her to make her believe she was meant to be the queen of Camelot. If she was to take up that role, she would have her family advise her. She would make Camelot a witch nation, seeing as how everyone used to treat witches badly. She thinks it's pay back time. She hides her magical power so no one becomes suspicious of her doings.
Personality: She pretends that she's bubbly and easy to get along with. When pretending to be good, she's kind and helpful. But when she's he true self, she's evil and cruel. She doesn't care for the lives or feelings of others. As long as she gets closer to Excalibur, everyone can die.
Weapons: Fire magic, and a set of twin blades.

Bio: Zaidin's past is unknown. No one knows where he came from, who his parents were, or what he wants the sword for. He has a questioning scar that runs down his back, but no one dares ask him what's it about.
Personality: Quite and mysterious, Zaidin stays away from the crowds, watching and listening from a safe distance. He doesn't speak unless spoken too. At first, he seems like a jerk, but once you get to know him, he's a pretty nice guy with a caring heart.

Bio: Abandoned at a young age, Seymour roamed aimlessly across the earth. He decided to become a teammate to whoever pays the most. The reason he wants Excaliber is so he can find the reason of his life...When lost at which side to join, very rarely, he joins the side that pays the most.
Personality:Calm and serious, though has a joking side.

Bio: Taken from his hometown during a raid at the age of 23, Damon was sold into the arena as a gladiator. After proving himself a strong fighter and surviving for about year in the arena as entertainment, Damon took up the position of general among the gladiator's mini-society. Slowly twisting his role to the gladiators benefit, Damon rallied a rebellion among the gladiators and broke out. Damon now wanders in differing groups of mercenaries, continuing to build on his reputation among soldiers and citizens alike. His nickname "The Demon" (from his days as a gladiator) was given to him by the arena master that now lays dead and burned along with the bodyguards, for his ruthlessness and unflinching moral.
Personality: Hot-headed and quick to action, many think Damon to rush things before needed but Damon in fact just plans things out before their brains piece it together. For who's background seems to be that of only a soldier Damon's days in the gladiator arena helped sharpen what was once a dull sword.
Weapons: Favors a longsword but often ends up with another weapon once wrapped into a fight/battle, giving him a careless appearance due to wielding a two-handed weapon in one hand.

Intentions: Good
Bio: Author grew up in a very nice family, loving and supportive, even when they became a bit cross with him. Unfortunately, The children were never very kind to him. The girls thought him awkward and bizarre, and the boys always and teased and made fun of him. Poor boy was never very good at sports. Horseback riding, wrestling, the lot. At the age of thirteen, he snapped, and decided to go out into the world, and show what for, he needed something to make him stronger and braver. So naturally he took on the most impossible quest: finding Excalibur.
Personality: Author is very sweet.... if he holds still. Girls make him nervous and uncomfortable, boys scare him, drop-dead gorgeous women and huge strong men terrify him. The mere notion of Dragons excites him, and the actual thing horrifies him, and he knows nothing of sword-fighting. Actually, he knows a fair amount, but his accuracy is horrible. In short, this is not a wise mission to start out with for him.
Weapons: Two weapons: He has one sword, nothing particularly special, but it is strong, durable and sharp. And he has an iron clad memory, both auditory and visual.

Bio: Maya is a rare gift: A daughter of a slave from the deep reaches of the African jungle, and Elf of the wood. Her mother was captured, and taken at first to the reaches of Egypt, then through the Arab Empire to the edges of the European continent. Trade and business transactions was the main way of travel, until she finally reached Great Britain. She fell under a woodland’s spell, and Maya was born. Maya herself was raised among the elves, free of her mother‘s slavery title.
Personality: She is very aloof around humans, quiet and suspicious. She does have a sense of humor, but it is Elven, and a bit racist, so she does not share it. She is critical and sensible, but does not really look out for others. She could be called selfish. She does not trust easy.
Weapons: Bow and Arrow. Two hypnotic spells: Continuance Subtle, and Complete control. The first requires a sleeping spell, and only uses the power of personality suggestion. This affects the person’s way of thinking or motives for the rest of their lives in minor ways. Complete control is as the description suggests. A state of complete physical, emotional, and mental manipulation, though she cannot be disturbed, nor interrupted, without it affecting both her, and the person she is controlling. The spell lasts five minutes, and zaps her power for at least two days afterward.

At age fifteen, after her father refused to allow her to marry, she ran away, knowingher father thought her a freak.
Personality: She's open and outgoing, but shies away from people knowing her heritage because of her father. She is generally welcomed and accepted for her calss and beauty and uses it to her advantage... She's very kind and loving and looks out for those close to her heart.

Lucinda grew up in Germany, learning Dark magic from her father until he passed away when she was 17. 3 years later, she learned of her cousin's death. Wanting to claim what she beleived to be rightfully hers since she was the only living relative, she changed her name to Lucinda in order to regain entry to Great Britian, where she began her search for the Royal sword.
Personality: Lucinda is quite vain, She is a big flirt, and has no problem showing off and usuing her honed powers to take the lives of her enemies. She also hates spiders with a passion. Although she seems intent on her evil dreams, if the right person comes into her life, she might just change her ways to please them....

Bio: Born and raised in village away far away from the commotion. Gamma lived a happy life with her parents and older brother. They were loving and peaceful healers and she was intent on taking after them. Her older brother had served underneath King Arthur's reign. Gamma listened to her brother tell many stories about the famed sword, juicy gossip, and extensive secrets from the castle. These gossip and secrets eventually lead to her families demise. A year ago, bandits raided her village killing off all in her family, but leaving her family seriously maimed and injured. They cut out his tongue in his protest for his ignorance of the swords whereabouts. She decided to leave the village in search of those bandits, to exact revenge and to learn more about the sword that caused her family so much pain. In her village, an elder taught her a little about handling swords and daggers. He entrusted her with his knives and daggers in order to avenge the village. He allows her this duty as long as she promises to bring the sword back to him. She often uses her experience in healing to help other victims.
Personality: A careful, watchful person who carries much anger inside. She has decided to be kind to others, but to trust no one. She is protective of the weak. Gamma generally fears anyone else carrying weapons and stays on her guard knowing anyone could be after her brothers secrets. At times, she can be open, emotional, and weak. She can fly off the handle quite easily.

With a little smile, Lily strode over to the horse stables of Camelot. She slid in quietly, and then quickly found her beautiful steed. Fog, her dear horse, made a sound twisted between a whinny and a cough. Lily laughed out loud, a light but strong sound, and then stroked her horse's head. "Greetings, Fog!" she cooed sweetly. "Good morning to you!" She smiled as she opened up the stable door, and rode her horse outside.

Her horse seemed to be quite energetic in the early morning sunshine. The sun's shimmery golden rays peeked over the far horizon, spreading shafts of mellow, yellow lights over all that it saw. Fog trotted down the cobblestone streets, his long tail swishing back and forth, back and forth, and then back and forth again. Lily pulled the reins of her horse gently, and then Fog halted obediently. She tied Fog to a post outside a warm, cozy-looking tavern, and then pushed open the front door, walking in. The tavern was quite full of people, the stools pretty much filled, except for a few here and there. Inside, even though it was only early morning, it was very noisy and bustling with people who were definitely not sleepy or tired. Everyone was lively, chatty, and pretty much a bit...hyper. Lily grinned; she liked friendly taverns like this one. She made her way over to an empty seat, and sat down. A good ol' tavern... I do so like taverns! Lily thought with a little smile. It smells like alcohol mixed with sweet cinnamon...and the strong scent of wood burning! Lily heaved a contented sigh.

Crome walked into the city that was Camelot, wearing a hood to hide the horns on his head. Where was a tavern for him to get a drink? He glanced around, his eye catching the sight of one. He'd been traveling for a long time now, having walked from his village. Crome pushed open the door of the tavern, surprised at how many people were here. He pulled down his hood, revealing his horns. He could feels the stares from a man, which he soon turned to giving a smile. He watched the man turn away and take another sip of his drink. Crome strode deeper into the bar, finding a seat. "Could I get a glass of water?" he asked the bartender. Crome watched the glass slide down the table and he caught it, "Thanks." He took a sip of the drink as he looked around the tavern.

A mysterious man with a hood entered the tavern, and Lily turned her head around casually. There was something different about this man, as he pulled down his hood. Suddenly, Lily realized what was different about him. He...he has horns! On his head! she thoguht with a shock. Oh my, is he some sort of demon...? Or warlock? Or...some immortal creature? Lily shook the silly thoughts out of her head. No matter now, she thought. He seems friendly and not dangerous at this moment. He doesn't look like he would hurt anybody in this tavern. He doesn't seem to have any ominous aura, anyhow...but then again that could just be me. I, for one, think he seems trustworthy. Lily nodded, confirming her thoughts physically, and silently.

Crome looked around for a bit until he a took a sip of his water. They would stop staring soon anyways. He set down the glass and turned around, leaning back on the table, then moved his arm back to have his elbow rest on the table. He looked at the people around him, then turned back around. He took another drink of the water, trying to listen in on anything about the sword. A Tavern was a place where people gathered to have a drink and talk, someone was bound to say something about the sword right? He set the drink down, and just listened for anything that would help him on his quest.

Lily requested a glass of water from the bartender, just like the horned person who had just come in to the tavern. The bartender nodded, and brought out a glass of water. She sipped it silently, thinking to herself.

Excalibur, Excalibur, Excalibur... I wonder if any one is hot on its trail yet? I sure hope any ill-minded people shall not find the sword. Someone kind and pure of heart should be the one who finds Excalibur first.

Lily sighed; she worried that there were too many greedy humans who wanted to claim the great sword for themselves. She had already heard some people talking the other day about how they wanted the great power of the sword. She shook her head, and sighed again.
