I dream in color, and in first person...I can here things too...I have entire conversations. Something that pops up a lot in my dreams is me as a guy. I am me, but I'm a guy...Exotic places pop up often, and sometimes I'll revisit a place too! Usually things will be exagurated, and the dream will be very long and make no sense at the end of it. neutral Sometimes I'll dream something and it will happen, or something eerily simular will. My shortest dreams always include some type of death or killing, like the one where my mother killed my stabbed then came after me, but I escaped. sweatdrop Or like the one where someone was run over by an 18-wheeler and his blood coloured the rain (which was pretty awesome in a morbid way.) When I was younger there was a lot of fantasy involved in my dreams, and if I read Lord of the Rings or watch Star Wars those elements usually pop back up.
I think that dreams express what you want or would like to do, or show you things from the past or give you a wierd peek at the future. Some dreams I can't figure out at all and others just scare me. I think they also tell you something about yourself, like the feeling that I get sometimes that I might have been born in the wrong body.

Here's a wacky dream for you guys. Seriously, I have no idea why I dreamt this.
I had a dream that Luri was changing the guild to a pirate guild. It was being changed to "The Pirate Cove" and the banner was all flashy - like literally it was flashing - and she had this huge image of her avatar dressed like a pirate on the guild homepage. And so I made a topic saying that I was leaving because Luri was just up and changing the guild. And everyone was angry that I was leaving saying that I was traitorous and such.
It was quite strange.
Anyway to answer the dream questions:
I just told you one of my weirdest ones. I have more I'll post them later perhaps.
I dream in colour selection - black and white with maybe one or two items in colour.
Occasionally I'll hear things. It's usually my own voice.
For the most part they are first person.
Common themes? Loss or reliving some aspect of my past.
I have a fair amount of lucid dreams. They're usually when something horrible is happening to me. And it's during these that I know I'm dreaming and I struggle with understanding that I'm dreaming so whatever happens isn't that bad, but at the same time the fear of whatever is going on.
I've had a few recurring dreams. One of the most common was me going to visit my best childhood friend, but he had moved to this watchtower in the middle of the Bering Strait. And I was going to visit him with my dad on and iceberg - yeah, that was our transport. We get there and he calls us up. So my dad and I are climbing to him - and he's eating tuna sandwiches, this is a detail that I can't figure out why I know - my dad makes it too the top, but just as soon as I'm about to crawl into the room, a huge gust of wind blows me away from the outstretched hands of my father and friend. I land back on the iceberg and drift away, watching my friend and dad stare down from that room.
Another involves me losing teeth. They aren't always the same dream, but they're always the same outcome. My adult teeth begin to just fall out. One time it was a whole row of teeth, like the entire chunk of my toothline on my mandible. I wake up from these dreams highly disturbed. I have these dreams recur the most.
I don't believe that dreams mean anything spiritual or religious - though I don't doubt that God communicated through dreams back in old testament times. But today, he doesn't do that. Psychological? Yes. I think that dreams, especially the recurring ones, can be studied to understand things that might be bothering a person. I'm sure there are patterns that can be traced to discover certain subconscious feelings or reactions to things going on in a person's life. I think they can tell how someone truly feels about something, and they are not to be looked at at face value. Not all dreams, of course. I think most of the time dreams are simply recapitulation of daily events or worries, most times merged together - giving way to why dreams are always so strange and usually don't make sense.
Something that wasn't asked by the creator of this thread is do you read things? There are dreams I've had where I can see the words on a page I'm reading. I can remember these words vividly. And I've found that most times when I actually hear myself talking in dreams and remember what I've said, those are times when I've been angry in my dreams. It's usually expletives that spew forth and are remembered by me when I wake.
Yes, dreams are highly intriguing.

I usually dream in color, third person perspective. Which is odd, because I often don't realize I'm dreaming, and you think looking down at myself like a Sim would tip me off. Oh, and I dream animation alot. Also should tip me off it's a dream, but still. Here's the most recent one I remember. It was animated, but that's not too weird, many of my dreams are; but the animation was definately asian. But not Ghibli-esque, I mean, in dreams that's practically live-action. I think I dream like that alot, come to think of it. Not my point. It was more like Bleach or Naruto than Ghibli. There were two people both in their early teens, a utaku boy who managed to pull off the enthusiastic nerd thing; and an overprotected goth girl. He might have been wearing a school uniform but I know she wasn't. Until I wrote this, I was pretty sure she wasn't me because her hair was black. Then I remembered the dye. But I think she might have had bangs; and looked a little like Hannagima from Fruits basket. They were talking in a hallway that felt familiar, like it was part of my highschool or somewhere around where I grew up, with these very old wooden toilet booths under some stairs. There was a landing about the height of the stalls to the left of where the stalls where, and the stairs curved over them. It was night, and I think the girl may have had a bookbag or a large purse, the kind that looks like a miniature briefcase.
They were talking, and the overprotected goth girl was being overprotected; vaguely sarcastically hostile at the boy; who took this as normal for her. They were picking a place to hang out, and he enthusiastically suggested the bug museum. Clearly, she was very fond of him; if not exemplitory, because she just gave him a look and asked, "Bug museum?" He sweated and suggested, "Or we could go to a movie or something..." Then he mentioned that Rocky Horror was playing downtown, and she just lit up. "I haven't seen Rocky in two years!" And he agreed meeting to see Rocky together was a good idea, idly used the word "date" to gauge her reaction; and took the fact that she actually smiled as a good sign.
Conversation turned to the supernatural, and he bragged about being a... I forget the word he used, but I know that it was followed by "Like Ichigo, from Bleach." Non-examplifry goth girl again proved she was very fond of him by taking what he was saying into consideration though she clearly thought he was full of it. He said that he made his own hollow-fighting symbol based on the ones found in Bleach, and that he tested it and it worked. He asked her if she had noticed the bathrooms were less creepy then they were a few month ago. She considered, though she was clearly a bit skeptical, and admitted that now the stalls themselves where just the normal level of old-bathroom creepy, but she still didn't like to use them because the landing above them felt less normal. I got the impression she had some supernatural ability she had not learned from comics, which would explain why she was only partially dismissive. He agreed there was something upstairs, and that he was pretty sure it was a ghost of some sort. They looked at the stairs as he talked about what he hypothesized about the ghost, that it was a adult woman and very angry; when she felt it and he saw it moving further up the stairs, just beyond their range of vision. All he really caught was a swish of skirt; she felt the surge of foreboding equal to that of a ghost sneezing. (in anime, there's a convention from a japanese superstition that if you suddenly sneeze, someone's talking about you) He ran up the stairs after it, and she loudly expressed her opinion that this wasn't a good idea. Then he shouted, "Don't worry, I'm a (whatever it was)" Then he screamed. She ran to the stairs and began to climb them to his aid, and felt something tugging on her skirt. When she looked down there was a pale little boy pulling back on her skirt; who had every semblance of being a yurei. She recoiled and pulled herself away, running towards where the other teen's voice had emanated from. She made around the corner that she couldn't see, where there was a hallway with at least three doors. The girl stayed at the top of the stairs as she called her friend's name and asked him to make a sound again so she could find him. Then she, and I, in a sense, since now the dream switched to her perspective, felt the tugging on her skirt again; only this time it was harder and sent her tumbling down the stairs. With that sensation, I awoke.
I don't remember my dreams often. But the ones I do I wake up thinking they would make good comics, and I'm usually frustrated I didn't get to see how they ended. Example of comic based off of dream.
