I heard painting humans was haram, why?
Is it haram to thake a pic of yourself?

they say that pictures of human are haram because at the day of judgment they will be alive or they will be true by having soul. i don't know how true is this. is this written in the Qur'an? sweatdrop

yea - allah (swt) ask u on day of jugement and he say - u made this - put a rukh (soul) in it and we will say we cant - so allah swt will say that if u cant then yu made it - something along those lines anyway!

that's stupid. it's not like you're going to worship a picture that you painted, or a picture that you took.
taking a picture is just taking a picture, nothing more. It has no value except to preserve the past a little bit. it's only a moment in time that's being frozen. a mere image.
i don't see why Islam is getting so worked up about it. No image or painting can ever compete with Allah anyways, and like any good Muslim should think, it would be absolutely preposterous to even think about worshiping something else.

Ok, i never looked much into this... but from what i know... your not suppose to draw humans or animals... your not even suppose to take pictures of them...
I once read in a hadith book that on the day of judgement Allah will punish the makers of pictures more worse then anyone else...
Allah will ask the makers of pictures to breath soul into what they have created, and they wont be able to... so they will be punished severely... ouch!
This is why when you some times see drawings drawed by Muslims from way back in the days... the drawings did not have faces... therefore it was not a complete drawing therefore it was not haram (apparently)
Also your not suppose to hang up pictures in your house, or wear clothes with pictures etc etc etc...
If you have pictures in your house then Allah's angels will not come to check on you, therefore when you pray, your prays will not be as powerful as they should be... this means turn off tv's, pc's and get rid of all pictures in your house otherwise no angels will ever enter your house...
"Why do angels check on us?" were you ever told that Allah is every where, well that's a whole lot of lies, Allah does not exist in our world, Allah is sitting on his thrown waiting for judgement day... and angels are his messengers... they are his eyes... as Allah is not here on earth... his angels are his eyes...
This is a very complicated topic... and one that i never went to a scholar about... so i dont know the topic inside out...
