i maintain it every couple weeks or so, when i think its starting to slow down a bit.

My computer usually preforms a auto check that scans itself every few days or so

All I have is a spyware scanner thing so not much updating or scanning sad

xp we do scans almost daily plus defrag once a month, Anytime the dad is bored he goes on the computer and finds new free scans and does them.
