If L's a genius...If L's a freak...On the general topic of raids and the like xD
Personally, I think their attempt is funny, if it even is a Chan doing it. From what I've heard, it's just people from gaia using the long cat items as a scape goat and be like "lulz, it wuz 4chan" Then there's the "No, it's /i/!" "No, it's /b/!" "No, it's 4chan!" "No, 420chan!" "No, it's newfags!"
Honestly. I don't care who's doing it, they're making everyone look like idiots xDD
Anyways, the raiding I don't care about. I was in the GD in 05-06, they had trolls post porn/gore pics daily. What the trolls are posting now is nothing new or more "disturbing." The only thing new I've seen is the giant picture that's suppose to freeze your computer. Thing is, my computer/internet/whatever can handle it xD All I see is some psychedelic picture that's pretty to look at.
The raids now aren't really anything new, or special, or panic inducing unless you let it be.
As for the shutting down of gaia, I somewhat doubt it. I think you're talking about Subeta, which was owned by a pretty young kid. Gaia is a money making corporation with sponsorships and the like. I kindof doubt their systems are as easy to ******** with. Not only that, but Subeta was a result of s**t security and that the passwords weren't encoded but listed. And people from gaia used the same password/username combo for gaia and subeta. It's also rumored the owner gave them out to stop harassment.
Then there's the Scientology site that was shut down for a couple minutes. (Or a day. I can't remember.) But I don't think, and this I'm not 100% sure on, that their site was designed to handle that much traffic, or whatever it is they did. Gaia is, with teams and servers and other techno mumbo jumbo.
Gaia shutting down images is due to scams from the sounds of it, not hacking, or raiding. Because didn't they have a problem with people clicking links and being directed to a fake log in page?
But those forms of scams happen all the time, it may not even be a ******** a gaian user who wants to cheat and get money the easy way.
That's my take on the situation, from years of lurking this kindof stuff xDD ...then B's an extreme genius....then B's an extreme freak.
