The lock I picked was pretty simple. I used a paperclip but I had both ends in. Made it a long u-shape.

That sux D: Is there something important in there?
Is it a pad lock or is the lock built into the box? You could always take it to a locksmith, but that could get expensive....
My roommate and I locked ourselves out of our appartment back when I was in college. Long story short, I was having my car fixed at the dealer I had bought it from and I didn't realize my house key was still on my key ring when I handed them over. We hopped in the rental car, drove from Paso Robles to SLO and noticed a little too late that neither one of us had a house key.
Our dumb luck, we'd locked all of the doors and windows. So we ended up having to make a 2 hour trip at 8pm to retrieve my house key, with 7am classes to get to and homework not done yet. It's funny now that I think back on it, but it wasn't at the time. xd

MIT lockpicking guideTry that. twisted I have been locked out of my house before, but I broke in by taking a window off. My mom locked a car with the keys in it before, she used a stick to unlock it. That is why those old locks are better, because these new ones don't have anywhere to grab hold of. At my church, the office door is built so that you can get into it with a credit card, same with the janitor closet.

if it's a cheap safe box that has a small latch that catches on the bottom if you have a metal ruler you MAY be able to jimmy it open . . .

ok . . . so that's not a simple latch lock . . . it more than likely doesn't connect to a piece of additional metal but connects to the lid it's self where it's bent . . . a metal ruler may do it but doubtful . . . i had once of those before . . . some times if you pry it just a little it'll knock the latch into a free zone . . . and it should open . . . only other option is pick it . . . but if you try prying do it a LITTLE at a time . . . it shouldn't take much to knock it off of the catch . . .

oh yeah i forgot to mention when you do pry it . . . the mteal may bend SLIGHTLY you may not even notice if you pryed light enough . . . with it open, tap the outside edge just above the keyhole on the lid . . . it shouldn't take much of a tap either . . .
but then again i've done it a few times on a few of those boxes, i've gotton to the point i don't have to use a lot of force . . . i really need to learn to make a bulk of spare keys and put them away . . . sweatdrop

Mu Flaga YOU CAN ACTUALLY OPEN MANY WITH somthing LIKE i dunno a Credit card a devit card anthing really i all you simple do is the opening in a door or a safe slide thecard in to the slot and Smilpe move it along the open well ha you have now broken in to a locked a door or safe. Maybe i should of kept my mouth shut lol ... the lock on the safe box she has uses a catch on the lid, it doesn't simply go into the lid or that'd work . . . a door's lock simply goes into the door seal so all you have to do is slide a card or butter knife etc. in and it's open . . . and a car door you use a slim jim or a wire hanger bent straight, then create a hook at one end use that end to catch the lock . . . i've locked myself out of just about everything . . . the only thing i can't pick without taking an hour or so are the classic masterlock padlocks . . . with those if you need in quick, use bolt cutters . . . only use any of these methods on YOUR OWN POSSESIONS ! ! !
