So, I've just had one of the most unnerving experiences of my life. I finally went to see a Body Worlds display. For anyone who's never heard of it, it's a human body art exhibit that tours the world.

This explains exactly what it is way better than I ever could:

Has anyone else seen a BW exhibit? What did you think of it?

For me it was pretty cool from a med. student viewpoint, but also creepy knowing all of the displays were made from what used to be real people.

Gah, jealous. I'd love to see it. I spent a couple of days at a vet school at Easter and after seeing so many dead things in jars I've been fascinated by anatomy. That sounds odd... 0.o

I saw it when I was in 5th grade. Everyone in my class thought it was gross but I liked it. 8D
I liked the part where they showed you what your lungs look like if you smoke. It looked like... nasty uncooked but somehow burnt meat.

I've seen a lot of dead things in jars and I've seen a lot of things die, but this is way different. It's just one of those things you have to go see to understand, I guess ^^: If you're interested in anatomy, you can probably get past the whole "oh wow, I'm looking at a mangled corpse" feeling.

I've not seen many things die, just a couple of animals put to sleep, the most surreal thing I've seen was a dead dog in a freezer with its legs sticking up in the air... most interesting was the cross section of a dead dog in a jar, so much to see. I wish I could go to see it but it's kinda of a way to go.

I went and saw it.
It was interesting, but nausea kept creeping up my throat.
and it kinda smelled funny.

Organs in jars is kinda boring.
But when they had all the circulatory system all separated that was freaking cool.

Good times.

I just got an email at work (library) telling about this new website where one could watch live surgeries.

I will give that a miss as well.

I like skin. Skin covers innards. I don't like looking at innards.
