AIM RP Log: Alcmene and Aza'Ryuu
Evening searches had proven to be failures, so it was afternoon when Alcmene went out looking for someone to play with again. The moon was important to the pride, but nighttime wasn't a very active time for many of the cubs around here. Even Alcmene didn't last very long into the night, though she enjoyed herself when she did manage to sneak away and stay up for a bit!
With the bright sun hard on her pale eyes, the young princess relied a lot on her ears to find someone to play with. If they weren't close, then she would follow the sounds of others walking around or playing until she found somebody. They weren't exactly in a favored hunting spot, surely anyone around here would gladly talk to her. She would try it, anyway.
Aza hummed a quiet tuneless hum to herself as she traipsed around the pridelands. Unlike Alcmene, Aza liked the daytime. She was the only one of her siblings to have visible traits from her uncle, the sun god, and though she was unaware of her lineage, it seemed that she held some affection for his domain. She stretched in its warm glow, tail curling over her back as she did so. A vague smile upon her face, the little cub trotted forward once more, ever on the lookout for something interesting to do.
Walking! And- maybe- humming? Alcmene picked up on it quickly when she wandered nearby the other wandering cub. With a quick look around, she didn't notice anything, but standing up as tall as she could (and thinking tall thoughts) she took another look around. She might not have noticed the other cub had the colors not been so startling to see on the ground- cubs weren't very big, and some colors you saw in the grass often might be easier to overlook. No, this looked almost like the grass could be on fire. With a grin, she hopped forward to try to get Aza's attention.
"Hey!" she called.
Aza's ears perked and she looked around. Spotting the other cub, her face split into a sharp grin, and she trotted forward, tail held high. "Hello!" She responded, reaching Alcmene and giving her a long look. She tilted her head. Why, this cub looked more moon-like than even her father! How wonderful! "Who are you?"
The smile was a good sign from Alcmene's point of view, it looked like she'd found a friend finally! Her excitement at the idea showed, dancing a bit on her toes she stopped a short distance from the other cub and offered her very best, most friendly smile. She didn't care what class the cub was, she didn't even think about that, though another in her position might have. She was more concerned with other things.
"I'm Alcmene!" she introduced herself with a nod, "Who are you?"
"Alcmene." The fiery cub repeated, a look of concentration passing over her face. Finally, she appeared to come to a conclusion. "That's a nice name." She informed Alcmene, smiling absently. "I'm Aza'Ryuu." She stretched out in the afternoon sun contentedly, warming her back and extending her forepaws towards her new friend. "What are you doing?"
One of the first things Alcmene noticed about her new friend- as she was certain she would be- was that she was a bit spacy and informal. She was also friendly and happy seeming, though, so there was no problem. Still smiling, she took a seat and curled her tail around her toes- something she'd picked up from all the time spent with her father. "Aza'Ryuu is a nice name too," she returned the compliment cheerfully, "I was looking for someone to play with, and I found you! What were you doing?"
"I know." Aza replied with a nod. To her, it was not a matter of compliment, but one of fact. She knew that her name was nice, and so was Alcmene's, and that was that. "I was looking for butterflies." She answered, her eyes already drifting away from her friend to scan the air for the fluttering insects. "Do you want to look with me?"
Alcmene tilted her head curiously at Aza's response to the compliment of her name, finding it to be a strange way to reply. The polite thing to do was to say thank you, but if you already knew then maybe it wasn't so odd. The princess hadn't had many interactions like this, so she didn't know what to make of it. She perked back up at the mention of butterflies, they were always fun to watch but Alcmene had never really gone looking for any or anything.
"Ok! I'd be happy to help," she agreed, beaming.
