At the end of the Great War, the Zaibach Empire was broken and peace restored throughout the lands of Gaea. All of the countries banded together to form the Gaean council, which was created to ensure peace of their world. But all is not well…darkness lurks in the shadows of Gaea, soon the times will give rise to another who believes that Gaea must be controlled if order is to be maintained

The Setting

The entire story will be set on Gaea, no trips to the Mystic Moon or new visitors from there. This takes place 20 years after the original story so all of the characters from the series are well into adulthood. I do encourage madeups and would like to see quite a few.

We will open up with a meeting of the Gaean council, things will proceed accordingly from there.

Personality and Traits: Though unwise and rash in his youth, Van had become more calculating and deep thinking in his adult years. He is a noble and fair ruler of Fanelia, but still does not trust those he does not know and is very protective of those he cares for especially his two children. Quite the serious one in the face of others, Van is more open and humorous with his children. Well-known amongst the Gaea Council as a voice of reason.
Background: Born to Goau and Varie Fanel, Van was the younger of the two brothers, the elder being Folken who was a decade older than Van. He was half human/half Draconian and possessed angelic wings, but was told by his Mother to keep them hidden.
When his Father died, the burden fell on Folken’s shoulders to take up the throne and rule over Fanelia. Folken mysteriously disappeared, their Mother Varie soon followed in an effort to find her missing son. Balgus, leader of Fanelia’s elite Samurai, took Van under his wing and began grooming him to become King.
The time came for Van to rise up and succeed where his brother failed, in order to do that he had to defeat a dragon and take it’s energist. Traveling to the Dragon’s valley, he prepared to fulfill his destiny. During his battle with a dragon for it’s energist, Van was transported to a world that was not his own, it was there he met a group of Earthlings whom he was forced to protect from the dragon. At last, he defeated it and took it’s energist, but one of the Earthlings had returned to his world with him.
After discovering her name to be Hitomi and that she was from the Mystic Moon, Van took her with him back to Fanelia where he was crowned king for completing his trials. Though Van became King of Fanelia, it was destroyed by the Dragon Slayers of Zaibach under Dilandau Albatou. The kingdom and it’s samurai were all destroyed. This would begin the Great War, which Van would fight ‘til the end with the help of his Ispano Guymelef, the Escaflowne.
At the end of the war, Van returned home to Fanelia to rebuild it. He felt like a piece of him was missing over the course of the next five years, for during the war he’d been accompanied by Hitomi and he’d grown to love her. At the war’s conclusion, she returned home to Earth.
It wouldn’t be the last time they saw each other, shortly after his 20th birthday, Hitomi returned to Gaea and was reunited with Van. She swore she’d never leave again and the two married soon after.
They were blessed with a son and daughter, the firstborn named after his Uncle who Van believed deserved recognition for putting an end to Dornkirk and the second born named “Constance”.
Ten Earth years after their reunion, Hitomi died of illness, leaving Van to complete the raising of their children and to rule Gaea on his own. He is devoted to the safety of his land and the proper upbringing of his son and daughter.
