It was good to get out of the bookshop every once in a while. Homey as the place was, sometimes it did one good to step out for a few hours to get some fresh air. And so, with the shop closed for the day, Niiran was taking Chatri out for some fine early summer sun.
Not that Chatri seemed to be enjoying himself much. The infant, when not dozing or sulking over some imagined slight, was fussing. He did it quietly, but he was still being fussy.
Of course Niiran, having no experience in this sort of thing, was driving himself nuts in trying to figure out why Chatri was being so negative. Was he doing something wrong? Was it too hot out? Was Chatri hungry, despite having just eaten? Was he was he was he---? On and on and on.
Of course, not once did it cross the feline's mind that the kid was just being a brat.
"Chatri," he fussed, kneeling by the stroller as he attempted to console the infant over whatever it was. "What's the matter? Why're you so cranky, hmm?"
Oh, he could not WAIT until Chatri could talk. Things would be so much easier.

Nikomas was walking along the sidewalk, Blackfell next to her and holding onto her hand. They both had their wings folded in against their backs, so as not to take more room on the path then they really needed.
Niko hadn't really been outside much in the past week or so, except for sitting on the front step at their house. So Fell was taking her out for a walk, trying to get her to liven up again. It was working, albeit slowly, so Fell put up with it.
But man, did the bandages itch! The lacerations on his front and back still weren't completely healed; because of how active Fell was, and his complete inability to stay still, the wounds kept reopening. Resulting in him having to have more gauze pads wrapped around his torso. Such look to have, especially when walking with a half-there woman. Granted, Fell was going shirtless as usual, but still.
