Dragon Cave updates (New poll & post, 11-18-2008)

As many of us discovered late morning, all of our dragons are currently MIA. If you try to access your scroll, you'll get this message...

So, what's going on? Well, in the News section of the Dragon Cave Forum, there is a thread started by TJ labeled "Downtime".

Why they would is anyone's guess, especially since they haven't yet answered the email I sent (At 12:00) to their support department
Once things are sorted out, I'll credit hatchlings and eggs for the time lost.

They suspended the server because the proxy checker kept trying to connect to proxy servers, as it should. However, the connections set off a warning that caused the host to think that the server is infected with a virus.
I replied explaining the situation just a few minutes ago, so we'll see how they respond.

hey willa, went and checked out the thread myself and he posted this about 12 midnight last night

Too bad the server runs Linux, meaning it can't possibly be infected with the viruses that were falsely detected.

And I've reached the 12 hour mark on waiting for a response, but with nothing.

Well, the good thing and you are right, not many viruses can eat Linux.
The bad thing? It be that much harder to figure out what has gone wrong.
(has Linux on email server at home, knows the problems my dad deals with)

Although I did get an error message once so I think it still is a little shaky.
We shall have to see once mainstream time sets in.

The cave is still being a little flaky. I got a database error once when I clicked my eggs today.

Been some discussion and speculation about new eggs/dragons expected from the Cave.

Look at the bottom of TJ"S scroll and you will see two eggs that haven't been seen before..........
They are dead but still, the shell pattern is so different..........
I don't know how long they will be there so look quick!

ok i thought i knew which type of dragon those egg would have been but i was wrong. there are some eggs that are similar to the new ones but not exactly like it. here is a link to the site with finished and WIP sets of suggested dragons for yall to look at.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something but the top of the post says "Completed or almost-completed requested sprite list." Are the sprites the same as the dragons?
