Everybody listens to it... Don't they?
So why not have a place to discuss those hundreds of songs we list?
Neways, I bring this up because I just found out some lovely news. The Presidents Of The United States of America, who were such a big part of my musical childhood, have re-formed and have made a new album which is to be released in the coming month. What's more is that they're coming to Australia in October. Good stuff. Good stuff indeed. biggrin
So go on. Discuss.

I do concur, it is good news to here that such a classic band is not dead. Lump would have be my favourite by them, as well as Weird Al's version Gump.
Speaking of bands back from the bed. The Bloodhound Gang has just released a new song Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo. I know these guys are rude, crude and down right dirty, but I am pleased to see them returning with a brilliant sounding song.

Triste I shall take this opportunity to rant and proclaim The White Stripes as overrated. Hell, my drummer is better than Meg White... gonk My God I agree totally. Jack does all the work and could get so much more money if she wasn't there. Maybe their parents force Jack not to kick her out xp But uugh even I could drum better than her... and I can't drum for s**t. All she does is: bang bang bang crash ...and then in the chorus it's just: crash crash crash crash. Terrible.

ethuil they're actually exes... sweatdrop *shudders* ethuil In other news. Am so miffed about Green Day...bastards...bringing two of my favourite bands with them and aren't comign to Queensland. I only want to see Jimmy Eat World...they deserve so much mroe then the one hit here... JEW is touring Australia? eek I only like some of their songs because one of my friends made me play a couple of their songs in a jam; pretty nice and easy songs. xp On a side note, I completely despise Green Day now because Billie Joe Armstrong sings just about ALL of the ******** songs in American Idiot the same way. I cringe when I hear a Green Day song on the radio or elsewhere. gonk

Despite the lack of talent or difficult it may or may not take to write and perform White Tripes songs, I don't think that should then automaticaly mean it's worth hating. I know the songs aren't some example of technical brilliance, but they are enjoyable to listen to. I don't care how technical a song is, because if it's still boring, it's still boring. confused

I like The Killers. I remember the Presidents from my childhood as well, and used to think they were great.

But they way they're marketed as "ultimate geniuses, their albums being statements of simplicity" or whatever just makes me sick. I wouldn't rate anything in Elephant above 3/5 stars. If I wanted simplicity, then I'd listen to the old-age blues greats like John Lee Hooker. At least he can sing better, play better, and sound better than these two people combined. rolleyes

Give me my rock and give it to me hard, classic or nu. I do really care, just aslong as it has a great bass line, brilliant lyrics or melodic guitar solos.
