Hmmm....what kind of fortress are we talking here? Military standard war-fort? Ye olde fasioned stone fortress? High end military cliffside bunker? The Alamo? What are we working with?

Also, what's the setting? Are we in a post-apocolyptic age with few human survivors? Is this an isolated incident? Is this some sort of ancient tribal curse? What exactly is going on?

Is the only goal to delay the inevitable death of your character for as long as you can? Is there a point beyond typing "I spattered the zombie's brains across the room with my baseball bat."?

I don't mean to sound hurtful, but I see this thing falling just as fast as the attempted Bakugan RP. Maybe if you added a little more to it...

HIJACK-D

The world has gone to hell and back. Ever since the discovery of a strange plant called the Mercury Bloom, nothing has been the same. When the plant was discovered 8 months ago, every manner of scientist practically worshipped it because of it's many unique properties. Given the right mixture, the luminescent red flower was able to be used in many cosmetic products, capable of litterally reversing the effects time for those who used it. The plant's root was also capable of being harvested and mixed, creating a miracle drug that was able to treat all manner of diseases, early stages of cancer, alseihmers, and even proved a strong antiviral against most known diseases. It seemed this mysterious new plant, capable of giving hope and answering the prayers of millions was a gift from god.

We couldn't have been more wrong.

Two months ago, the first side effects of the Mercury Bloom were being felt. Everyone who had been using the cosmetic products suffered from a disfiguring skin mutation that litterally melted the skin where prolonged or repeated exposure to the make-up had occured. Patients treaded with medicine containing the crushed root began to complain of severe stomache and intestinal pain, where their stomach acid had become overly volatile and had began to eat it's way through the body.

With these disasterous conclusions found in the trial study, the scientific community decided it was best to leave the Mercury Bloom be in its natural enviornment untill they could study it more, finding a way to unlock its life giving secrets without also loosing its terrible potential. This would have been fine, if it weren't for Esra Q. Tates.

Esra Tates, now known as "the jackass that did this to us.", Was a simple farmer with a sizeable land plot and a glow of ambition. Having lost several relatives to various forms of cancer, (and seeing the potential profit found in the miracle plant), Tates became the first to attempt growing Mercury Bloom as a cash crop. To his suprise, every one had taken root, and seemed to handle its own without his imput. After a 3 week germination, the bulbs emerged and bloomed into the beutiful glowing flowers, releasing a small puff of white haze-like spores into the air. Having witnessed the event, Esra Tates, during a fit of psychotic delirium, ran inside his house and killed his wife of 34 years. He was discovered 2 days later, dead, by his 27 year old son, curled in a fetal position around a pile of hollow bones that once belonged to his beloved wife and dog.

The white haze had spread from the 300 acre farm, expanding exponentially. Having already claimed 20 states and making decent headway across the Americas, it was only a matter of time before the world as humans know it ceased to exist.

There are those who have survived, having a natural immunity to the effects of the white haze, but they now have to face a true nightmare. With the natural vegitation being choked out by the encroachment of the Mercury Bloom and the ungodly horrors commited by those affected, those lucky enough to escape are left to question what kind of luck they have.

Those of us along the coast that managed to survive banded together and managed to make it to a military training facility. There's not much food here, and with the destructive wave of the infected rising every day, we're bound to run out of ammunition before that.

God help us.

.....aaaand that should do it. Might be a little dark, or corney, depending on your point of view, but it adds something to it.
