A tip so you don't lose your data...

It's happened to us all before.
You save your game as you quit and your game stops responding so you have to Ctrl Alt Delete and End Task.
[Well, if it hasn't happened to you yet, you're lucky!]
And you end up [most of the time] losing your game data from your last save.

Well I've thought up a nice little trick that will keep your data if such a thing happens.


1. When you're done playing, save your game by clicking the "Save" icon.
2. Press F1 and let the game play for a few seconds.
3. Save your game again by clicking the "Save" icon.
4. Press F1 again and let the game play for a few seconds more.
5. Press the "Quit" button and when prompted to save before exiting click "No".


I know most of you went like this: eek while reading this, but it's not really that long of a process and has saved my data loads of time.

You're also probably wondering Why can't I just stop after step two and then quit and save at the same time?
If your game stops responding after you quit and save it more than likely won't register your last save and you still might lose your last save data, even if it's only a few seconds, I'm sure no one wants to risk losing their precious sims; also it's happened to me before as well and I've found that this works loads better.


I just wanted to share this with everyone because I know that a lot of people have older computers and/or different types of graphics cards and have to run their game kinda slow. sweatdrop

I've never had any problems when saving my game. But thanks for the tip, I might use it every now and then ^^

I tend to save my game every 10-15 minute when playing. I'm obsessed with saving like that, no matter what I'm doing, haha.

The funny thing is, I never really save.

Ever.

I only save when I exit the game.

That was actually a really interesting tip! I don't have problems saving, but my sister has a REALLY slow computer and saving takes her forever. I'm going to suggest this tip to her and see how it goes. Thank you! heart

What the heck does F1 do?

The F1 key puts your game in Live mode. F2 is Buy mode and F3 is Build mode.

Well, I've never really had a great computer. When I played full-screen I had a lot of issues exiting the game. So before I knew about being able to play in window mode, I started doing this.
