I was wondering about getting some help. I'm not quite sure what to do, so I figured I would ask on here first then I'd check with my friend's dad. I'm sure he would know what.
I'm looking to sell one of my handguns, my Walther P1. This is a two part question; 1. How should I go about selling it and 2. How much should I ask?
I've got the leather holster, with two original magazines and one reproduction. Also it's marked Bw for Bundeswehr and it's from April of '82. I've checked on gunbroker and they range from $299 with just a holster and two mags, and $350 with just a holster, two mags and an HK91/G3 cleaning kit. I'd love to get $350 or $325 for it. It has holster wear, not really sure how to judge it though. Slide and frame match from what I can tell, 548 on the slide and serial 064'548'*******
Anyway, if you can't help with selling advice I'll just check with my friend's dad. Or you know, I could just sell it to a family member and not really have to worry about it. rolleyes
You may be wondering why I'm so uppity to sell something. I'll tell you what, I don't have a job and I just got a flier from JG sales. 3nodding
PSL, CETME and Sig 226 are on sale in it. As well as Hexagonal receiver Mosin Nagants for $69.97 handpick year and condition for an added $10. 3nodding

Floyd Your best bet is to find a local marketplace of some kind where you can meet folks who are in the market for what you are offering. The big problem with consignments is that they get the lion's share of any profit, and their generally higher prices tend to make for a long wait for the sale. Is there any way to place an ad in the local paper where you live? As for the price, start at $350 and negotiate down about $25 for wear on any items. Good luck.
I wasn't really thinking about putting it in a store for sale.
As for ads in a paper it's completely possible. However, I'm not sure if I want to do that if I have to sell it out of my own home.
I was mostly wondering about the 'legal' process. The paper work stuff. In the possibility that if it falls into the wrong hands that it wont come back to me. I wont sell it to anyone that I find shady.
Perhaps I could try selling it at some gun shows. I've seen people walking around with signs on their backs.
