Elixir of Life = no pregnancy?

I used the Elixir of Life on my adult sims three days before their birthday.
They both wanted another baby, so I got them into bed of course, only to find that there was no option "Try for baby".

Does the Elixir of Life make you unable to have kids? confused

I believe I have used the elixer of life on a sim and she was able to have children.
Maybe she is already pregnant?

Is there already eight people in the house?

Or is the wife married to someone else?

Those are the only times that I've lost the 'Try For Baby' option.

That is one awfully long pregnancy.

Maybe she is pregnant but something got screwed up. I'll have to check with boolprop later...

@Llama: Just because your sim is married to someone else doesn't mean they can't get pregnant with another sim. I've done it a lot before. ninja

I just tried using boolProp to get her pregnant but there were no pregnancy options.
No alien pregnancy.
No "Get Pregnant With..." option.
No "Speed up my pregnancy" option.

My game is beyond messed up and it's really making me mad. xp
scream STUPID GRAPHICS CARD.


But they want ten kids, so I got the husband pregnant. D:

Really? Mine wouldn't let me try for baby when she was married to another sim.

Well- Another thing I discovered, if there isn't enough time for her to have the baby before she becomes an elder, it won't work.

Are you close to becoming an elder? Maybe try drinking more Elixir of life, and see what happens?

Otherwise, it seems to be a glitch in the game >_<

I had her drink all of the elixir, so she is far from being an elder.

This is just an idea but.. use the agesim cheat and make her an adult again.

(make her a teen or something and then back to an adult)

...that might work.

i think i know why!
sims are pregnant for 3 days, so maybe once they have 3 days left as an adult, its too late. It must be that because they already made it that far, causing the option to disapear, that even if you make them younger with the elixir that it is still to late.
chef tine's idea is the only way i can think of to get them to have a baby again...

Oh well, I killed her off and made him a brand new wife. blaugh
