The Lake

The Lake is located to the south of the castle. The castles stands on a cliff, overlooking the water. The diameter is about a half a mile. Swimming isn't usually suggested because of the grindylows, giant squids and the merpeople that live deep in the lake. All swimmers are to be cautious.

Harmony was slightly disappointed as she made her way out to the lake that all she’d gotten in the mail was a note from her mentor. Not that she wasn’t exited to have mail as he hadn’t sent anything to her for about a month. His adventure with the dragons had taken a lot of time out of him and he hadn’t had time to write. She was disappointed that he hadn’t sent another book; of course she hadn’t finished the last one he’d sent because of the preparation for the school year. Chuckling at her own impatience she read his scratchy handwritten note that was on a worn out napkin.

Through the note Archibald told the story of how he’d run out of leads on his mysterious item and was wandering around Romania trying to calm a dragon long enough to research it. He’d had no such luck and when he’d come upon one particularly large Longhorn guarding a cave. After much bruising and misfiring spells he’d managed to get the beast paralyzed to have a look inside.

Harmony shook her head and grimaced at the letter as she found her way to a tree near the lake and sat down. She would have to write him back, scolding him for fighting with dragons all for the sake of curiosity. He wouldn’t listen to her but sometimes she thought he needed to be reminded that his topsy turvy theories didn’t make sense to the rest of the world some times. Not that a lot of her theories made sense either but she quickly dismissed that and turned back to the napkin.

After making it into the cave he’d found a man huddled around a statue of a Ukrainian Ironbelly with vibrant red eyes. After approaching the man he’d been engaged to a duel and managed to paralyze the man quicker than he’d been able to paralyze the dragon. When he’d examined the statue further he’d found that it was a container rather than a stone statue and held blood and (from what he guessed) ten crushed horns from a longhorn. The whole statue had been cursed which Archibald had guessed was making the dragons act the way they had. He was a little disappointed that the item hadn’t in fact acted on its own but took it back to the Romanian reserve with the man and found out that the man was an ex dragon keeper at the reserve. He’d been fired for attempting to breed the dragons and had sworn revenge. It was apparent that the dragons had turned against many of the keepers in the time that the ex keeper had disappeared with the cursed item.

For the time being Archibald would be staying at the Romanian reserve to research the item and its effects on the dragons, Harmony hoped that would keep him out of trouble for at least a little while but there were no guarantees. Shaking her head Harmony deposited the napkin with the hardly legible handwriting into the back pocket of her jeans and leaned against the tree absentmindedly. She began to think about other people reactions as they tried to read the notes that her mentor had sent her without much success.

Ted. Remus. Lupin

After many trips make to the teachers dormitory to get his other boxes he was finally done! Fantastic. Teddy walked down the quiet halls once more, encountering a ghost every now and then, or a talking painting. They at least managed to make him run into something every now and then, he’d forgotten how they could pop up out of no where. That, all it’s own was a big mistake. Though he always took it with a smile. He wandered the halls until he found himself outside. Unconsciously he’d headed outside, and he knew exactly where he was going once he’d realized this face, the Lake. Hogwarts Lake. He’d gone to it often when he was a student, he even fell in once, only to be lifted back out by the Giant Squid.

Luckily he didn’t encounter any grindylow, of course now he knew exactly how lucky he was, he took Care of Magical Creatures in his later years at Hogwarts, though he wished he’d taken it as soon as he could. He found a spot under a nice, large tree, then took a seat. He glanced around briefly and was surprised to see someone else, thankfully she was also a new teacher; he guessed she had no classes as he did. He was just realized that she wasn’t a student, he wasn’t really sure he was ready to deduct points. Have the students hate him before he had even started! Horrible. He took out two muggle devices. A pencil and a notebook. Luckily, his lovely Victoire was quite interesting in muggles, so he knew a bit about there items. They were odd. After a moment of slight confusion he began writing in the notebook. He needed to write down ideas. He scanned the paper after he’d written down a few things.

- First of all, I need to know where they’re at, what they know. Third years are likely to know little or nothing.
- Trip to the Lake.
- Study different types of Dragons, Winged horses, and Trolls; be able to identify them.
- Inform students of Puffskeins, assign a puffskeins to pairs; after studying thoroughly .
- Overall study all ninety-two types of magical creatures
- Bring Jarvey to class.
- Relate magical creature studies with something significant in the students lives.
- Rules:
. Be respectful of the professor, other students, magical creatures, and yourself
. Follow the professor’s instructions. Do not disobey the professor unless you would like to not only lose your house points, but also risk possible injury
. Always be prepared for class
. Do not perform magic on your peers, professor, nor the magical creatures unless instructed to do so.

Teddy was disappointed with his rather short list. It was pretty pitiful, not to mention he needed to think of some fun activities. He might have a bit of trouble keeping the students interests. Now…he really wished Victoire were here with him, she always inspired him to do his best. Not to say he hadn’t tried on this, but she most certainly helped!

Jason Salzar Yates

Jason walked out of the school that so many had called home and strolled to the waters edge. He dipped his hand into the lake and splashed his face a little bit with it. He took Nagini, his pet snake out of the inside pocket of his robe, which he had enchanted to fit his rather large pet, and set him on the grass beside him. " Now dont go far, we do have to actually attend the classes in this awful place if we want to get anywhere" Jason said, or hissed rather to the snake.

See Jason was a parseltongue, like the great harry potter, he thought to himself sarcastically. He got up and, snake at his heel started to slowly pace around the lake. On the far side he seen two new teachers sitting under some trees. "Hmm, they look like fun" he murmured to himself. Jason took out his wand and started to weave it around, saying the spell in his mind. The one closer to him, the male Care of Magical Creatures teacher shoes began to untie and tie together.

Jason sniggered and he too sat against a tree, watching Nagini thread his way around his shoes, every once in a while going off in search of some new prey or toy, this reminded Jason of himself very much. He came back with a frog in his mouth and swallowed it in one gulp. " good boy, now sit back and enjoy the show" he said with a great grin

Teddy sighed once more, he needed to think yet he just couldn’t. He peered up at the sky, noticing the change in the color of the sky. It was getting late. He pushed himself up, having some difficulty. He nearly slammed face first into the ground because his shoes had been tied. He stared at his shoes rather blankly, not exactly sure how this had happened; he bent down and undid them quickly, then back up. Teddy glanced around, spotting another unknown face, a student one this time. However he had no proof as to if he had been the one who tied his shoes. It wasn’t un-heard of, only knowledge limited what you could do with magic. He scurried inside the castle, the rest of the day spent organizing his classroom. After that, the week seemed to go fairly quickly. His first days of teaching were fairly easy; the students gave him a bit of grief though. Everyone missed Hagrid. This made Teddy feel a bit disheartened, he would never be Hagrid, and he would most likely never be as good or as liked as him. He tackled his bed and laid down, waiting for sleep to come; tomorrow, Saturday, he would figure something out to do.
