I am wondering...doesn't anyone like Blood+ for it's ingenuity, rather than it's wonderful characters? ...Let me clarify. Yes, Haji is a sex god. Yes, Saya is the heroin. Yes, Diva has attention-deficit disorder. But, what about the story? What about the subtle hues of humor admist the drama, the blaringly obvious love triangles among the quiet foreshadowing? Has anyone else analyzed the amazing literary techniques that the creators of Blood+ used?? ...hello???

I'm sure we all do ( I know I do). I remember thinking it was a really well written show after I saw the last episode and felt like something great had just come to an end. The show was really a wonderful piece of work done by a talented crew in all areas.

But this is not a game so it doesn't belong with the games and contests, thus it will be moved to the main forum where everyone can post in the thread and not be confused by where it's located.

You're right. To be honest with you, I saw Blood: The Last Vampire before I watched Blood+, and I liked the idea of the movie. A young girl fighting monsters? Come on, that's awesome no matter how you put it. So when I heard they were doing a follow-up series, I decided, 'Hey, it's worth a shot, let's check it out'. I'm very glad I did--it wasn't even really the characters that pulled me in at first. This series, while it has its faults (few though they may be...) had everything. Clean animation, which I noticed right off, an interesting storyline, it had drama, some romance, there was violence, but not to the point where it was mindless or overpowering. It made you think, while you watched it. There was a reason for the fighting. There was a reason that the characters were the way they were. Not just some overly-emo girl and her would-be 'strong-and-silent' boyfriend. Saya had reasons for being the way she was. Hagi was stoic for a reason. Diva, too, had a whole backstory. Most series' wouldn't even really care to go into things like that. Blood+, you had me at hello. :3

Yeah the story is pretty good, even though a lot of people who doesn't deserve to watch blood+ know about the anime, i still like it and it's my favorite anime...by the way the name is HAGI with G....

I think it's 30 years, too. I remember David saying it somewhere, just can't remember exactly when. xp

How to spell Hagi's name exactly is a little confusing. The direct translation of the Katakana (the Japanese syllables) is HA and JI. But that's the sounds in Japanese. The name outside of Japan may actually be spelled with a G, but the people doing the popular subs that most have seen on the internet spelled it with a J trying to stay true to the Japanese and probably weren't sure if it was supposed to be spelled with a G.
I think I remember the ending credits spelling it with a J (I'm not sure, I have a really bad memory) but the novels and manga spell it with a G, so it's really confusing. sweatdrop It really depends on the person's prefrence on how to spell it, no way is right or wrong.

That always gets me confused. @.@

You're right. The Katakana does spell it as "Haji" ... but it's rendered as "Hagi" in most places. The manga depicts him as a Roma/Gypsy boy... so the name Haji seems somewhat appropriate.

But of course. Yes, I adore all of the characters for their amazing sexiness, but the story is definitely the main reason why I love it.
