The subject Ancient Runes is of course the study of Ancient Wizarding Runes. Ancient Runes in avalible to third-year students and up as an elective course. The subject allows students to translate the ancient ruins found by the Minstry of Magic. Some of the translations date back to the very first wizarding communities.
