Little do any of them know, the Volturi are planning a surprise visit that not even the resident psychic, Alice, can figure out because they spontaneously change their plans around with a moments notice. The Volturi plan to see if Isabella is still human or not, and if she is, there will be hell to pay. Aro - the leader of the Volturi - is thinking of changing Bella to see if she ends up with any powers that can be useful to him, but he has kept that idea locked up in the sealed mind that he has.
And Bella thought all she had to worry about was her upcoming wedding and Alice's bursts of energy!
Meanwhile, Jacob Black is still missing somewhere in Northern Canada. How can Bella get married knowing that simple fact? It's even more simple. Bella doesn't know about it and her soon-to-be family are not excited to see her reaction when she does hear about her best friends abandonment over her engagement.
