Those stupid ads that offer free stuff are getting lamer and lamer. Maybe it's our economic worries, but whatever happened to the days of "Shoot the duck, and win a free iPod/Xbox360/Wii!"? I swear I'm not lying, I keep seeing one that asks you to identify a photograph of Tom Hanks, and win a "free Chili's giftcard." Woohoo! Chili's!
But, in all seriousness, I hate these ads. My mother actually filled out information for all their offers once just to get an iPod, before my father and I could stop her. She was swamped with scam emails for a year.

omg I know how you feel. My brother tries to fill those out (on my comp) to win a free ipod/wii/elephant omg yay!!! and I tell him one or all of three things will happen
-he'll get a ton of span -my computer will get a ton of spam -my computer will get a trojan or ten
Either way, I tell him no, walk away, come back and he's still working on it. <.< Bad! Very bad!!!
...But I have noticed on ff.net that they are starting to blink 'free dinner' at me instead of 'free ipod/game machine'. Hmmm... I hadn't thought about it all that much. rofl

I'm aware that these ads are scams. It's just kind of ridiculous that they've turned from giving out parent quality gifts to extended family quality gifts. I mean, if they're going to rip you off, why not go big?

Psh. I did one once, and I kept on getting E-mails saying that I could "Get a bigger pen", if I filled out my information.
Why would I want a bigger pen? It won't make wy handwriting any better, nor will it make my writing any different.
Weird people...

"I couldn't save her... I know she will die, But please, if I could only tell her goodbye. All I want is just one more day... That morning in May...
Or a raccoon eek ...I've fought reptilian monsters, I've crossed a bloody sea, Just to meet you here And now I'm coming home, my dear."

Weird people... The only explanation I can think of is that they assumed that you would know that "pen" was their abbreviation for "p***s."
