Actually no, it's a Magpul FMG-9.

And I want one, bad. Look stupid above? Yeah, it does. But in this video ( http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/magpul-fmg-2-tm.jpg ) this guy sells it for me.

First I'm thinking, "Oh whoopee, some guy made a folding Glock POS that's ugly."

Then he takes off the gay rail and flashlight, folds it up, and sticks the motherf@#$er in his back pocket. And I'm like "SOLD."

But it's an auto or something, and if we ever got it on the civi market it would have a 40" barrel that defeats the purpose about a thousand times over.

So it shall remain a dream, and the detective in my novels will have it.

it reminds me of an older design by i think it was Mars. I was a folding 9mm SMG. I'll go look for some info.
Edit: here yah go: http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg70-e.htm
Edit2: it was made Ares, I feel like an idiot.

That's spring-loaded, right? Also, could you get the original as a class-3?

EDIT: Is that a Glock magazine?

... I still don't get why they put the long a** barrel on SMGs.

They neutered them and made them semi auto already so why can't they just class it as a large handgun or carbine and stfu?

I kind of like it, even with the rail.

If the barrel was shortened wouldn't it be a ClassII?

Frensel: Yes it is, It was designed around the Glock platform. No you couldn't get it as a Class III (pre86 only)

You had to make a thread about it xd
EDIT: If it's semi auto, why not call it the Folding-Machine-Pistol?

The people making the laws keeping me from having that folding piece of awesome should be beat with a large pipe wrench.

It's a great idea and all, but I don't really see the practicallity of it.

If you're concealed carrying, I'd assume you probably don't need a stock.
I mean, come on... 15 feet or less?
One could probably do that with a pistol.

It's cool and all, but the only place I could see it used, is in a situation involving the Secret Service, but even then, I kind of doubt it.
Because there's guards arlready with SMGs, and guards with carbines, and guards with sniper rifles, and guards with pistols...
They've pretty much already got every base covered.

What I mean to say is, why does it need a stock to begin with?
It's probably got a LOP of around 7 inches...
I mean, atleast the Ares is the size of a briefcase, that Magpul thing isn't quite that size.
I dunno about you, but I've never seen a briefcase 5 inches by 7 inches.

Practicality? Who needs practicality when your gun folds into a small, black square? And can be deployed into a carbine in less than a second? And be more stable and accurate than a standard Glock, and with a longer magazine?

I know it's an old idea, but it's an old idea finally done the right way. They could scale it up into a briefcase size later and make the seams look better and put it in .45 ACP and it would be even more a**-kicking. Or they could put it in .223 and get a foldable rifle.

I waaaaaant one.
