The benefits of living in a basement.

Oh, yeah. I've got a serious 'benefit':
Bugs the size of my thumb that are apparently immune to most crushing actions courtesy of my foot.
I'm well aware there are worse things in life, and it's somewhat sad that I need to complain about this. Plus, the basement bug situation is far worse in the spring.
Still, I'm convinced the largest and most nasty insects get together and make plots to crawl inconspicuously into random basements. The Official Cockroach Union.
Alas. Anyone have similarly horrific bug experiences lately?

Usually I like bugs, but not when they're gigantic. Or if they're bugs pretending to be spiders. Spiders are one thing I canna stand! /flail/
Anyway, why are you living in a basement in the first place?

Did your house get ripped up by a tornado? Did you get banished by your family and now have to live a life of seclusion and gruel? Or do you look/smell so bad the world can't handle you..?

Have you seen a potatoe bug yet? My dad (supposedly) squished one on our driveway late one night and said that it was really big. They're also supposed to be the ugliest and scariest of all bugs. I hope you never have to see one if you haven't.

I really hate bugs. Our has been crawling with ants lately and they have recently moved into my room. I'm so freaked to go to sleep tonight. The ant bait things don't work, but my mom is going to try spraying bug spray tomorrow when I'm at school.

Originally, I hated spiders. But since I found one in my bathroom with ants dead in its web, I don't hate them so much.

Mainly because I watch too many horror films :3
Nothing good ever comes out of those places xD
I feel for you and your bug problem though sad
I woke up with a huge moth like creature on my wall, next to my face this morning gonk
It wasn't a pleasant experience.

...and I just got out of the shower, so I sincerely hope I don't smell.

@icc>>Haven't seen one of those (which isn't a bad thing, I'm guessing). My grandparents live out in the country though, and sometimes they get these freakishly massive cedar bug things which like to latch on to people and give them great big bites that swell up to the size of your fist.
Fun stuff.

I'm not that bad with bugs.
Such as:
At one camp, we were completely in the wilderness.
My friend and I (we shared one room in the cabins) had found about....thirteen bugs a day.
And we were there a whole week.
I once had a minor problem with 'em, but I actually don't mind them.
I'd never kill a spider. It's bad luck!

Bugs that bite are NOT nice creatures.
Otherwise, I just scoot them out of the room/window if I meet a bug or two.
My Pacifistic-ness even extends towards bugs.

Bob was a bug on a bus window one day, when I was in like, 5th grade.
I thought he was on the outside, so I tapped the window to get him off.
(Slight OCD, I didn't like bugs obscuring my view through the window)
I was wrong.
Bob was on the inside.
And I smushed him into a little Bob pancake.

I really have no problem with killing bugs. It's somewhat cruel I suppose, but a little bad karma won't kill me (yet).
Plus, I think the superstition for killing spiders is that they bring rain when squashed, which I rather like.
Thunderstorms are entertaining.

I'm a little like Spazz; I hate squishing insects.
I still feel guilty for squashing a particularly large ant for one of my friends about three months ago. xD

Spiders are my friends, though. I love them. biggrin
They solve things like your insect-in-basement problem. xD

It's just that some other bugs are so hulking it looks like they could eat the spiders even while entangled in a web.
