The hardwood floor was glossed over to prevent scraping up one's foot. It's reflective sheen suggjested it would be a slippery surface, but it wasn't. A bamboo bush rested in the corner, underneath a balcony that looked down. Paper walls let light, or lackthereof in this case, shine through into the room. All other light was from candles placed around the four wooden pillars that were placed in a square pattern.
Sogue stood opposite Zedo, his blades were strapped to his back. This would be hand-to-hand until they decided differently. His shoes were off, he let his toes flex on the wood floor as he breathed in and out. They were only wearing pants, leaving the opponent with nothing to grab on to.
The Echani, an ancient race of warriors, had believed that you only truly knew a person after you fought them. Sogue and Zedo were about to become aquainted.
Sogue bowed to his opponent, never breaking eye contact. He stood again, took up a stance, claws pointed outward.

Zedo bowed in return to Souge, alowing his eyes to break from his opponent. Zedo knew Souge would not strike yet; it was just good manners. Looking back up, Zedo sighed slowly and stood stright. His one exposed eye not leaving Souge's two. The was a gentle feeling of calm in the twilight room, it was a calm that should be appreciated while it lasted for soon, there would be a Sonic Firestorm brewing.
Their eyes remained locked.

Sogue dashed forward, feet plodding against the hardwood. He leapt at the last moment, twisting his body in the air to deliver a kick at Zedo's head.

Sogue's foot was met with Zedo's fist, as Zedo blocked the attack, and quickly brougt his other fist toward Sogue's left ribs as he stood on Zedo's hand.
Such history was in the moment. A life time of knowing but not knowing was about to be unvieled.

Sogue pushed off Zedo's hand, vaulting, he twisted, landing in a crouch, dodging the blow to his ribs. He turned as he stood, waiting for a quick strike from Zedo he was confident was on the way.

Following Sogue's turning and standing, Zedo assulted the man's head with one foot and his left ribs again with his other foot. A bicycle kick.

The vampire managed to deflect the blow to his jaw with his arms, but he took the shot to his ribs hard. Nothing was broken, it seemed, when feeling returned, but he was pushed across the hardwood, feet gliding along the minimal friction. He recovered to find Zedo recovering from the manuvre. He limped into an attack, pain from his side echoing through his movements. Still, he spun at the last moment, using his drunken-style movements for an unpredictable tackle to Zedo's left.

Sogue's recovery attack hit Zedo square in the upper part of his torso. Sogue could retaliate well, Zedo made a mental note and appreciated it. Just as he had expected. However this appreciation didn't last long as Zedo strategically hit the ground and slid with one leg extended towards a wall. He coiled into his leg which coiled into the wall, and sprang off, sliding at high speed at Sogue's feet making a grab and a throw-down for his shins. If nothing else, perhaps Zedo could atleas upset his balence.

Sogue simply hopped over Zedo's sliding body stylishly. He didn't get much height, for fear of being inefficent with his energy. He didn't forsee this as being a short fight. Zedo twisted as he bent underneath the vampire, swiping at his feet. Sogue felt a lighter strike land on his right ankle, but it wasn't much. Just enough to make him land a little strangly. He twisted as Zedo slid, now moving in pursuit.

Zedo's slide landed him at the opposite wall and he sprang up, then took three paces up the wall, back flipped off, and landed right infront of Sogue.
"What? You expected me to be behind you?"
Zedo delievered a furry of blows to his oppoent. Each expert punch, kick, and uppercut was expertly blocked with an appropriate move. Suddenly Zedo got inspiration. He jumped back slightly and changed his stance. He now was crouched in a lunge with his arms crossed infront of him. He pushed forward, making a completly horizntal thrust forward into Sogue knocking him down. Normally the move was done with the flant end of his Seven's Sword but he felt improv would be okay too. Zedo used a smooth faceless pillar in the room to hike himself right up near the high cealing, then came down at Sogue, feet first towards his face. Zedo suddenly felt a pang of "Oh No" as Sogue bared his all-too-sharp fangs.

Sogue blocked the flurry approapriatly, feeling and relishing the dull pains of blows on his arms and hands that vanished quickly as new ones sprang up. As Zedo moved backward to strike, Sogue simply fortified his stance. He was pushed hard backward, legs stiff as he slid.
My feet are gonna be ripped up by the end of this, he thought as Zedo pushed outward, sweat dripping as their arms strained against eachother.
As Zedo spun out of the deadlock to zip up a wall, Sogue only tried to pursue, narrowly missing his legs as they nimbly mounted the ceiling. As the larger man dropped, Sogue crouched, jumping upward as Zedo fell. He wrapped his hands around his waist, forcing his body upward to reverse Zedo's downward momentum. He barely succeded, and they landed on the feet awkwardly. Zedo managed to wriggle free of Sogue's knashing fangs, moving backward. Sogue stood his ground, claws bared.
"Did we approve of biting beforehand?" he asked sarcasticially.

Zedo raised an eyebrow humorioursly and said, "Only if you buy me dinner first!"
The surge of energy left Zedo slightly winded, and he took a deep, calming breath. The sweat on his body seemed to stop, and Sogue's every blink and twitch seemed to feel magnified ten-fold. Sogue lunged at Zedo with a laugh and made a punch for his face that Zedo back-bent to dodge. Followed by a kick to Sogue's solar plexes, Zedo flipped to a proper stance.
... too late.
Sogue grabbed Zedo under his arms and hurled him into a wall with an animated crash. Zedo lay cradled in the wall's cracks, moaning slightly. "Damn.." he whispered hoarsly. He took another calming breath.
Sogue's hardly had time to twist into his devlish smile before Zedo was on him. Literally. Knees to chest, back slamming to the ground making another indent in the arena. Zedo began swinging methodically at Sogue's face. The move was a little archaic, but oh-so-fun.
