Kasdeya had promised Mahewa that she would find one of the Kings for him to speak to, but while she had ran across Verge on a number of occassions, she was waiting to stumble across her own father. It seemed strange that Kasdeya was the daughter of one of the leading rulers of the pride and could not, for the life of her, seem to know where he was hiding.
While making her way around the volcano for the second time, and just about ready to give up for the night, she spotted the familiar red-orange mane of the lion she so often looked up to. Actually pleased to see him, but not wanting to show such weak emotions before him, Kasdeya approached slowly and lowered herself respectfully. "Good evening father." she spoke in a respectful tone that showed little to no warmth.
Iar had just come back from a quick run around the pride's lands, that being mostly what he did with his time when he wasn't resting somewhere around the volcano. He blinked slightly as one of his children came up to him and then smiled - the expression almost a smirk - as she lowered herself before him. Good, this one knew how to show respect to her king.
"Good evening, Kasdeya," he rumbled in reply. He'd made it a point to know the names of all in his pride, least of all his own children. Wouldn't do to have to fumble for a name at a crucial point.

Kasdeya was almost surprised at first that her father knew her name. It was not often that the two encountered one another and after her mother left without any word, the small cub expected a similar treatment from her father.
Shaking the slight frustration from her mind, the cub cleared her throat. She hadn't looked for Iar in order to catch up, in fact, this was purely for the pride. Still, in the back of Kasdeya's mind, her heart couldn't help but swell with a light happiness at the fact that her father addressed her by her name. He was, in the end, her father and as much as she hated to admit it - she loved him.
"I think I have found another demon near the borders of the pride. He is both large and strong for his age and his eyes have a golden glow."
Iar tilted head slightly at that, eyeing the small cub. He did think that Maluuni was rather stupid for not figuring out her status earlier. And he had no respect at all for the way she had left - not to mention how she had stolen cubs as well. But those cubs who had stayed... he was fairly sure they had been given a chioce, and had -chosen- to stay here.
Where they belonged.
And for that, he would rather praise them than despise them. "Have you now?" he purred, a pleased note in his voice. "How old is this one you have found?"
Kasdeya was not certain just what to do when she had come across Mahewa. She was certain that he was a demon, but understood that she did not have the power to simply call him a member of the pride and be done with it! When she began to explain to her father, the cub waited for some sort of answer, unsure as to whether or not her father would approve or even believe her assumption. His reaction, however, caused the cub to grin and become excited for what she had to tell him.
"I have!" Kasdeya beamed with pride. Hearing her father's purr made the visit worth making. It was a great reward to hear that she received approval from the King. "I believe he is only a bit older than myself. He also wears our colors and shows great enthusiasm towards hunting and taking the kill."
Iar nodded thoughtfully at that, smirking faintly. It seemed that his children were learning well, if Kasdeya really had found such a young one. It seemed that lately more and more demonic lions were flocking to the pride - which was all to the better, so far as he was concerned.
Nodding in an encouraging sort of manner, he asked, "Did you talk with him about demons, see if he had any ideas of us?"

When Iartuupe asked whether Kasdeya spoke with Mahewa about their demon blood, the cub was reminded of the strange expressions he had worn and his quick assumptions of their kind. With a slight delay in her response, the cub was careful with her words. She had been given enough proof for herself to believe in him, but wasn't so certain her father would feel the same way. Mahewa had grown on the cub...slightly, and she didn't want him getting hurt on her account.
"Well.. It took him a bit at first, but then he began to explain how he felt during a hunt and how he thought that it could have been his inner demon inside of him. He described feeling that way when he bit into flesh and when he felt the warm spray of blood on him."
With a pause, the cub slowly added, "He wants to learn. He wants to find out."
Iar considered that for a moment or two, and then nodded again. That sounded about right, for a lion of this young one's age. And it was also good that he was apparently already hunting and making kills for himself. Perhaps this one could even help out some of the younger cubs if he truly did possess a demon.
"That is a good start, at the least," Iar purred at his daughter, dipping his head a bit. "Is he perhaps... close? So that I could also meet with him?"
Kasdeya was only further encouraged by her father's purring. It must have been a good sign! While many of the other cubs had more scars and victories, Kasdeya could be certain that she was the first cub to run across another demon and bring them to one of the kings! Filled with pride for what she had done, the cub puffed out her chest and soaked in her father's approval.
When Iar dipped his head, Kasdeya fought the urge to back away from him, unused to that type of treatment. Was he showing respect towards her? Slightly surprised, Kasdeya only continued to beam, "He should be. I found an empty den for him to stay in while I looked for you. I can lead you to him!"
Iar smiled at that, pleased at the decision she had made. With an older lion, it might have been better to make them wait at the border, or lead them straight to him. But for a young one, giving them some kind of shelter for a time was probably best.
"That sounds like a good idea... lead on."

Kasdeya, glad that she still hadn't upset her father, continued to smile proudly. When he told her to lead the way, she began towards the direction of the den she had chosen for Mahewa. It was far from the dens taken by the pride members, as though to keep him somewhat confined from the others.
The cub hoped that Mahewa kept where he was as a few days had passed since he had first step foot into the pridelands and both were uncertain just when Iar would be able to be reached. Glad to spot the familiar figure in the den, Kasdeya nudged forward with her head and looked back towards her father. "He'll be in there, father."
Kasdeya had completed her mission, pleasing her father and leading him to the other demon. In that process, however, she had been glad to be in his company and shyly added, "May I accompany you when you speak with him?"
Iar thought about that for a moment or two, and then nodded. It would be good for her to see how this was done.... "Of course you may. Follow me, then now," he half-purred, stepping toward the den.
