The TCM is one of my all time favortites,and no im not talking about the re makes! Im speaking of the old 1974 version.. i have watched hundreds of times reviewing each scene. here is a bit of info on some of the main cast members.



Marilyn Burns is Sally Hardesty AKA the stumbling blond survivor.

Allen Danziger is Jerry

Paul A. Partain is Franklin Hardesty ,Sally's handicapped annoying brother .


Gunnar Hansen is Leatherface, the deranged hill billy chainsaw revved killer that we all love and fear.


John Dugan is Grandpa, the guy who started this wonderful family !

Edwin Neal ... Hitchhiker, he really is kinda emo ..

Teri Mcminn is pam ,first girl to die..hell the only girl to die..

As some of you may already know ,this movie was inspired by a true story.There's a ton of rumors so let me clear them up for you.It didn't happen in Texas! the real killer that inspires phsyco and this movie was in Wisconsin.

It was Far scarier then the new one which is typical really, but i was quite little when i saw it last

That movie was awesome!! I want to get it as soon as possible!

And as for what you put about Ed Gein being a cannibal, that's not true. He simply skinned his female victim and some (also female) corpses he dug up from a cemetary and wore their flesh at night. There is some speculation that he did this and the killing of two women (and maybe his brother, although that's not proven) because of his emotional attatchment to his mother or something like that.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a truly fantastic horror film, and is a major groundbreaker of the genre. Still pretty damn scary, 30+ years later.

As for the remake, I have to say, I enjoyed it. The remake wasn't nearly as good as the original, but the remake has some gorgeous aesthetic choices and was reasonably creepy, even if the whole thing was way overcomplicated.
