Welcome to the Unea'Gohunvhi Herd

Those that come to this herd are often "lost sheep" needing reassurance and love from a family situation that will always be there for them. To see if you and your Soquili will suit this herd, scroll down and read about this close-knit family, now a close-knit herd!

[Flaxen Wing Herd]

The territory of Ever and Tawali is centered around the Tsidanalu Delegalis--a very big Willow Tree with great twisted and knotting branches that reach out far and wide into the fork of the rivers that surround the area. It's to the north of the land, on the Western most river that flows through the land. The territory then swoops east and north, to the gap between the two ridges of mountain, where Evening Night, Ever's two leg, has her teepee. The territory skirts around the northern mountains just gracing the foot-hills of the great beast, then follows the river back down to the fork where the tree sits pride of the place.

The Tsidanalu Delegalis is the place where the members congregate to meet, and where the feathers of the Wind members are placed so all can see who is within their Herd. Two feathers are given from each Wind member, for them, and for their mate.

So you want to know more about this happy little family? This is the place to do it! The who, how, why and where is all here, and the reasons behind this Herd's creation. Read it well, and you may find yourself a place within the Herd, should you be suitable to their kind-hearted nature!



.:The Beginning:.

This herd sprouts, initially, from Ever Sacrifice and Tawali's need to be a "beacon of home" for their family. With their girls', Uwoduhi'Suli and Vidia, adult and wandering off on their own, Ever became worried they may lose them. Tawali's point of view was that that was how it was, but to be the solid foundation, the home-stead for the girls to return to was more important then knowing exactly where they were all the time. Thus, came their tradition of Tawali giving a feather to each of his family members, so that he may find them more easily, as "every Wind knows where his feathers lie."

With this set in place, Ever was able to relax into her role of being a "Beacon", and this has led to the view that she is more of a matriarchal Alpha. Thus, the initial Herd came into being. By claiming the area between Ever Sacrifice's two-leg's teepee and the Family Willow - Tsidanalu Delegalis - as the Family Lands, Ever and Tawali would search for signs of their daughters. Tawali would search the skies, Ever the ground and forests. When Ever fell pregnant with the second batch of foals, the family knew that things would have to change.

Tawali sacrificed his sky for the good of his family, staying within the claimed Family Lands and meeting as regularly as he could at the Tsidanalu Delegalis just to see who might be residing within its cascading limbs. Within the tree, the feathers of any Wind that may reside within the Herd's number will place their feathers, shoving the shaft of the strongest feathers into the bark, one from each wing. To start it, he and 'Suli placed theirs in the growth crack of a new branch.

Now, as the center of their Herd Territory, the Tsidanalu Delegalis is the regular meeting place of all the Herd members, and the place to celebrate new life and achievements. It's just a matter of time before this tree sees more generations and families reside within his mighty reach.



.:The Members:.

The family that make up the foundation of this herd are a life-mated pair and their foals. Ever and Tawali met in a chance encounter, resulting in a haphazard flee from a hungry wolf pack and them finding the Willow Tree that became their own personal spot. Ever, a Regular Soquili, had never met a Wind before, and Tawali, a Wind, had met very few Soquili at all. They hit it off with a great swiftness, the encounter resulting in Tawali gifting Ever with his two feathers.

Tawali's past life was that of a Wind-Regular Soquili Herd, a Herd who's main goal was protection and understanding between Winged and Grounded. The elders of the Herd were a mixture of Wind and Regular Soquili, and within the rules of the Herd, it was a Wind's duty to protect the livelihood and well-being of the Regular Soquili. This sprung a sort of "protector-protectee" relationship between the two breeds with strong feelings of chivalry and respect passing between the two. Tawali's banishment from the Herd came as a great shock to him, and stuck out and alone, he had no option but to leave the entire area, his failure in his tasks causing him great heartache.

It was after that he came to the Kawani Lands and set himself up with Ever Sacrifice as his mate. This seemed to stir in him the same feelings as he had in his old Herd. And with the appearance of Wild Wind to cause trouble for him, as in his whole life, Tawali came to the decision he wanted to do more then be a Wind Soquili and a father. He wanted to protect his family better than he was, and after returning home from a long flight to find three new foals, Tawali put his hoof down and, within the confines of the Family Tree, proposed that he and Ever start a Herd, in likeness to his old Herd with similar ideals, but in not such a segregated manner.

Thus came the new members. Winged and Grounded Soquili, who shared a love for each other and sought a place where their union could be solidified, strengthened, and would never be challenged could find safety within the boundaries of the mated pair's territory. With Ever and Tawali at their fore, the Herd would be protected from the accusations of "abomination" and "wrong" heralded as perfectly acceptable and in their solidarity protect each other, regardless of their breed.

The new family get together in their favourite spot to just enjoy their time together. Ever and Tawali discuss the need to be a 'beacon' for their girls.

~A Narrow-Minded Encounter~
Uwoduhi'Suli has a run in with her father's rival, and comes to terms with her strange mix of emotions.

~Soiled Vision~
Vidia's introduction to her father's rival does not run so smoothly as her sister's, and she is left a broken soul, with very little love for herself or others.

~I'd Give You My Wings, So You Could Fly~
'Suli and Vidia discuss their separate meetings with Wild Wind, and results in Vidia running away from a very distraught and broken 'Suli.

~A New Dawn~
Vidia is told of the new pregnancy, and decides to run away from home to actually come to terms with things in her own terms.

~Too Early To Rise~
With Vidia gone and the weight of three lives within her, Ever experiences difficulties with her new foals and they are born prematurely. With Tawali gone, all she can do is wait for him to return and hope the tiny bundles are strong enough to survive.

~Ready, Set, Don't Go~
Tawali returns from his travels and musings to find three premature foals and a distraught Ever, with no sign of his oldests girls anywhere. He vows to remain with his family this time around, and the pair think about the possibility of a herd coming into being to share their love.

So you think that this Herd is perfect for you, eh? Well, there are a few things to take into account before you can start RPing in here!



1. GET PERMISSION! Be it from Malhyanth or Evelyn Nyht, it doesn't matter, but as long as you have permission from one or t'other to join, its fine!

2. Go through an INDUCTION RP, meaning an RP where your Soquili meet Tawali and Ever. This will be set up in the ORP/PRP Forum, and will be a quick introduction to the Leaders of this Herd, and an open invitation.

3. Go through an INTRODUCTION RP, meaning an RP where your Soquili meets the rest of the herd. This will be done in this thread, so that any and all of the members can come and meet your Soquili.

4. Should your joining Soquili be a Wind, then they go through a FEATHER GIVING CEREMONY, meaning an RP where your Soquili will 'give' two feathers to the Family Tree, to proclaim their acceptance - one for themselves and one for their mate (if any), either current or future. Regular Soquili do not have to go through any such ceremony to become full members.

5. MUST BELIEVE IN THE CAUSES OF THIS HERD! So no, you can't join to disrupt the acceptance of this family UNLESS IT IS AN APPROVED PLOT by Malhyanth and Evelyn Nyht, ie. the current Wild Wind - Tawali rivalry and the Wind - Regular breeding debate.

6. Once joined, you must stay as an ACTIVE MEMBER of this family and Herd. We don't want you to join and then just balls off!

7. To become a fully fledged member, you can get a HERD-FEATHER attached to your Soquili. This can either be one like Ever Sacrifice's - a black to dark green feather with a white end - or one like Tawali's - a pale green tipped feather that goes through blue to white. This will proclaim to all other Soquili you are part of the Flaxen Wing Herd. This is not necessary, but makes a nice conformity for the Herd to follow.



.:Honorary Membership:.

This is a slightly different type of membership and doesn't have all the same rules and regulations to go through as the full membership does. Simple PM or IM Malhyanth or Evelyn to ask for Honorary Membership, and you shall be placed there.

Honorary Members are basically just friends of the family and members who don't want to be full members, but enjoy much the same benefits.

Evening Night has moved closer to the heart of the herd's territory, so the lands have drawn back to just the area surrounding the family tree and enough grazing land for those who are a part of the herd. But Evening wasn't alone. Astranaar, a mare made of the night sky, has joined the herd as a silent watcher. They're not sure what role she'll have to play in their family network, but are thankful to have her.

25 Aug 09 - Borders Closed - The Unega'Gohunvhi herd closed their borders to everyone outside of the herd and the alliance. This was a time for the family to regroup and settle family issues privately with no interference. Now the herd is re-open with the family stronger than before. Hopefully, this term of peace will last.
The Gold Unicorn - Tsis'Newadi (the youngest) has taken up a quest to search for the Golden Unicorn with two of her friends, Alexiel and Imriel. They will search the forest for this elusive and mythical creature, meeting new friends, strengthening old bonds, and learning that not everything appears at it ought to.

11 Dec 08 - All Finished - Actually, this thread had been finished for quite a few months. The only thing that had to be finished up was the alliance RP with Islagiatt's Alpha, Yei Umiko. Currently, there is a foal RP going on that's open to the public. Feel free to apply!
16 Sept 08 - Re-working and Renovating - Well, the first thread was all set up, but we found out that it's difficult to do much updating when it's created by one member. So we re-made the herd thread with a mule account to make things much easier. Currently, the thread is all ready to go, but there's still some dust with construction. Please, feel free to post at your luxury.
13 Jul 08 - All Set Up And On The Go - The thread is now pretty much complete, and nearly open for herd members to start RPing. Me'n Evelyn will be getting Ever and Tawali's approval and complete opening posts done as soon as possible, and then it will be fully open! Any applications are welcome, just PM me or Evelyn, and we'll let you know from there what to do. The basket contest was a great success and bought our little family into the fore, with many people promising a Soq to add to our ranks soon ^_~ The winner, Aisheva, received a beautiful winged female Soq for her trouble, as well as the other two opening to reveal female Soqs, Evelyn's being winged. Looks like more confusion for this already slightly confused family! We'll just have to see the problems that arise this time round!
26 Jun 08 - Setting Up And Contest - Well, here we are! The Flaxen Wing Family is now a Flaxen Wing Herd!! How exciting! This comes at the same time as the arrival of Tawali and Ever's second bunch of kidlets, and is being set up alongside the BASKET CONTEST for the third foal to come from this second breeding! Go and have a look and participate so that you can be a part of this amazing family!!
