Talk about anything you like here!
edit: OK since we now have a GD subforum, you can just post your own topics in it and don't have to keep posting in this thread unless you want to reply to something.

Well then, to break in the Chatterbox thread, is anyone else having severe traffic problems in their area? In the time it took me to go about 15 miles, there were 2 MAJOR accidents involving 3 or more cars, 1 minor accident, and a T-boning that happened right in front of us. gonk

I'm a college student who lives in the dorms... I don't really drive anywhere. Walking is good for the body! That and I can't afford a car. crying Eh, what do you expect for being $15,000 in debt to loans and another $20,000 to go?

I don't drive either. I can drive, but can't afford any wheels. Honestly, with gas prices the way they are, I don't want to be bothered with a car right now. I think we need to find alternative forms of fuel. Anything that's high-combustion can power an engine; sugar, alcohol, corn, even human s**t.
So for now it's either walking, biking or getting rides from the parents. If I can ever get on my feet financially, I'd love to get a Harley. *vroom vroom*

If you're aiming for fuel economy, get a motorcycle. They typically have at least 60 miles per gallon. VERY efficient engines.

Cool! Maybe with gasoline costing as much as it does, more people will switch to motorcycles and bicycles. My parents don't want me to get a motorcycle because of course, one would be no match for a car in an accident. But if everyone else were on one, it'd be safe.
I'm hoping to go back out to Arizona and get one out there, as Arizona's not as crowded as Michigan. The only problem is, Harley doesn't make any bikes with the automatic transmission. I can only drive automatic transmissions, as it's far too distracting to have to shift gears while driving. @_@

My Dad taught me to drive on an ancient Suzuki Samurai; stick, without power steering. Not only that, he had me driving on very rough terrain, so I'm pretty good at it. But I still cant get my drivers liscense for another year and a half. mad

>____> My sister[She's 15.] has this book she has to read for the written test[The one you have to take to get a liscense.] It's annoying as crap, 'cause she's always reading stuff from it to us. Me and mom are always like, "OMFG JARIN! SHUT THE FREAKING CRAP UP! WE. DON'T. CARE."

This reminds me of when I got my learner's permit. I was so excited about it that I asked Mom to let me drive us home from the Secretary of State office. I went to turn right, overshot the turn and almost made contact with the telephone poll to the right of the driveway. Needless to say, Mom drove us home. sweatdrop

I just got back from seeing Serenity in theatres. I am rendered speechless. It is by far the best movie i have ever seen, and I'm not one to say something like that lightly. Any of you that can go see it, I highly reccomend it.

Hmmm, it's hard to get to the movies nowadays (that pesky no car problem). My parents aren't really movie buffs anymore and there are no theaters in walking distance. *sighs*
What's Serenity about?

Science Fiction, based on the old series "Firefly". Past that, no words of mine could do it justice.

Firefly? You don't mean that series created by Joss Whedon? That only lasted one season. They made a movie out of it?
