Sequels that were worse than their originals

In most instances, a sequel means better gameplay, better/longer story, better graphics. And then there are those times you believe the developers spent their profit from the original on drugs. Which originals were better than the sequel?

When I played the Suffering I loved it so much, I went out and bought The Ties that Bind. The sequel was utter shyte. Completely destroyed the coolness and mystery that was the first game. EVERYTHING was bad to the graphics, game mechanics, and story.

I rather liked Zelda 2, but it's still as tough as nails. xp

Anyways... Final Fantasy 2, while passable... really could have been better.

But FF2 isn't a direct sequel... it's just sequential xp

But FF X-2 is a sequel, and horrible.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age wasn't as good as the original. It's still good enough to be in my top 20 all-time games, but it's not as high as the original because it had some redundent dungeons, such as the Air Rock, which takes at least 70 minutes, even in a new game+.

Dragonball Z: Budokai 2. The graphics and gaming mechanics were better, and a bunch of new tricks were added. But the story mode was destroyed. I liked it so much more with the cut scenes. The third was the best. The graphics, game mechanics, and the new tricks were awesome and greatly improved the game. Though the storyline was not back to the original form, it was tons better than 2.

I can't think of any sequals I have played that just flat out sucked, but I can name a bunch with both gives and takes.

galerians:ASH the first one was okay, but ASH was just thrown together in like a month! (but it was kinda understandable since it was one of the 1st games out for the PS2)

sonic 3d blast and pretty much anything except adventure 2 battle after that.

Hmmm..
1.Summoner 2, i liked the first one but the 2nd one sucked.
2.Suikoden 3, omg >..< this game blooows. i heard the 2nd one rocked really good
3.Fear effect 2, lesbians did not make this better
4.silent hill 4, .....listen konami a room is not scary.
5.XENOSAGA, this series of games has me wishy-washy. it sucks but i love it because it is the prequel to xenogears.
6. Drakengard 2, the graphics looked worse
7. Metal gear solid 2, the game is good but i just have to say it sucks, i dont like playing metal gear solid with a character that has better hair then me.

I thought the Halo 3 storyline was blank and without any good "Halo" material in it. Although I do have to say it has some of the better graphics and all in it I still prefer Halo 2.

Final Fantasy X-2 Was the worst sequel I've seen. Paine alone made me have nightmares for a few good months. Rikku and Yuna looked fine in their outfits, Paine should NEVER be allowed to become a Thief. I had to get a therapist just for that game. And then I went out and bought Dead Space so I'm pretty well on the recovery.

Sonic Riders:Zero Gravity(PS2)
Nothing new cept new characters.Other than that,it's Sonic Riders all over again-the game's a shameful spin-off with a short,mediocre story
