The sun arched proudly in the sky, its golden light falling across the leaves that glowed vibrantly under its touch. Leaves that were pale green now glowed like magic and between them, pillars of gold slipped down to the ground below. That dappled light draped across the foliage and across the side of a relaxing lioness.
She wasn’t asleep, that much was for sure.
Her eyes were as green as pine-trees, as green as moss that grows in the rivets of tree bark. They were open and they were staring out across the ground. But though she wasn’t asleep, she wasn’t quite awake either. She was thinking of something. No, not something. It was someone.
And this time, surprisingly, it wasn’t Fedha’kialio she was thinking of, (though she thought of him more often than she would have liked). No. This time it was Mito. Kindly, huggable, gentle Mito. It had only been a few days since their beautiful encounter and for some reason she couldn’t get it out of her mind. She’d been with many males since – and during – her time with Dharba, but they’d been forgotten by the next morning and she’d move onto the next. It had been different with Mito, however. He’d seemed to genuinely like her, genuinely appreciate his company.
She wanted to see him again.
Ivie sighed deeply and shifted onto her belly so she could cradle her head in her paws. She wished someone would come back and see her. Fedha, Mito, Kikore…mother…father…hell even Dharba. She missed him dearly. But she knew she’d never see him again. Besides, she didn’t deserve his friendship after breaking his heart.
And her children? No…she’d not see them again. They hated her, too.
Everyone hated Ivie’lingwa.

Sahar had no interest in idling his day away by himself. When night came he'd be more than willing to dwell on things and his life, but right then he wanted nothing more than to occupy his mind with some exploration and maybe discover another lion of the pride. That of course wasn't all that easy for the blind youth, but Sahar did his best as always. Slow deliberate steps helped him locate where things were and scents that drifted in areas also served as a form of navigation. Over all, Sahar had learned the terrain of the pride by now, but sometimes things threw him off enough that problems occur, such as tripping over a tree root, or running into an unsuspecting bush.
With the dappled sun warming his back Sahar was very much enjoying his stroll and so far he had managed not to run into a single thing. Unfortunately the youth had no idea that an unsuspecting obstacle was lying right in his way, something that was never there before and before Sahar could even think of what was happening, he practically fell over the soft, warm form of another lion. As a rogue, he rarely dealt with other lions except those who were a part of his family and they knew his habits and movements so they knew where to be or when to move if they were in his way. This pride thing was completely new and apparently held more obstacles than trees and bushes.
"I am so sorry!" He mumbled as he scrambled off of the lioness and onto his own two paws. "I had no idea you were there! You were so quiet and...I am sorry!" His head dropped as he apologized again, ears down in a very apologetic way.

Maybe she should go look for him? She pondered to herself. She could cuddle up into his mane and talk with him about stuff. Any stuff, really, just to clear the air. Maybe he'd come back to her den and she wouldn't have to be lonely...
Her thoughts were cut off by Sahar's trip and in moments she felt the weight of another pressing down on her. Panic gripped her. Who would be sneaking up on her in the middle of the day? Was it an intruder?!
The vision came to her then.
It had been so long since she'd had her last one that she'd almost forgotten what it was like.
A young grey lion bathed in moonlight. His grey fur seemed to glow like the moon itself. Behind him was a den - cast deeply into shadow - and he was moving away from it and into the moonlight.
She'd forgotten to breathe, and with that realisation she snapped from the vision, gasping for breath as she pulled herself away from whoever was attacking her.
Then the apology and she turned, half-dazed, to see who it was.
The same grey lion.
Her heart gave a little jerk and with a gasp she pulled herself to her feet and swung around to face him. "I was resting!" She replied, ruffling her fur. Normally she would have been angry, but this male was a grey, a silvery, handsome boy. How could she be angry with him? Besides, he hadn't known her secret. He hadn't known about the visions and how they were brought about...besides she hadn't seen anything awful this time - which made a change. Maybe there was nothing awful in this boy's life?
"Try paying attention next time, okay?" She snorted. "You're a pride member, right? Sorry...I'm new here. Haven't met that many people yet. My name is Ivie'lingwa but you can call me Ivie." She rolled her eyes. "Everybody else does."

Sahar felt chastised by the lionesses words, and his head dropped even lower. "I....I was paying attention...I just....didn't see you." He -hated- saying that. Loathed it actually but there was nothing else to it. Sahar hadn't seen the other seer and as such it resulted in him stumbling over her. Her hadn't even caught her scent thanks to the gentle breeze of the day being at his back.
Sahar lifted his head a bit at her next question trying to gauge exactly where she was by the sound of her voice and pointing his face in that direction. "I am...well, sort of, I haven't gone through the ceremony yet. I am fairly new too. In fact you're the first lion I met besides the King since arriving here." He paused a moment when she gave her name and cocked her head slightly. "If you don't like others calling you Ivie then why let them?" And there was Sahar's usualy inquisitive nature beginning to shine through again. "I'll call you Ivie'lingwa if you'd like. I am Sahar."

"Fine. Whatever." She was oblivious to his disability. Well...it wasn't completed her fault. She'd never met a blind creature before. In fact as far as she was aware being seer was the only disability someone could have.
"I'm middle-class." She continued. "Huntress, to be exact. I'm not very good, though. I'm going to try hard. Very hard. I haven't been in a proper pride since the Pridelands so I want to make the best of it." She nodded in a round about way. "You're the first person I've met too, unless you count Thoth...or...Mito." She flicked her tail.
"Well...it's easier to remember, for one thing. I don't mind. It just...well...someone used to call me my full name when I was younger...I don't think he does anymore." Fedha...she'd always made a point of calling him by his full name.
"You remind me of him, actually, Sahar. You're very pretty." She purred and twirled her tail pleasantly. "If you've got nothing better to do, I could walk with you a while?"

Sahar shifted slightly and allowed himself to sit down. There was no point in standing there awkwardly. Blinking his eyes he just tilted his head slightly as her responses. Middle-class...if Sahar remember right, that wasn't a bad rank at all within the pride. "I am sure you're much better at hunting than I am." He replied jokingly.
"Well I'll call you Ivie'lingwa. That -is- your name after all. Besides, I feel a name tells a lot about a lions character.
Remind her of....what? "Uh...thank you, um...sure?" He responded uncertainly. Never before had he heard such a tone from a lioness directed at him before. He wasn't quite sure what to make of it. With a shrug of his shoulder though he rose to his paws. "I was just exploring actually. I need to get use to the pride lands a bit so I don't keep running into trees, bushes and hopefully, other lions.""

"Pah, course I am. Girls were built for hunting, silly." She laughed pleasantly. "Just...some girls were made better than me, apparently." She shrugged. She'd worry about that later. Hunting would come with practise and the more she did it the better she'd become. Maybe she should get herself a female hunting partner. Lionesses certainly did hunt better when they were in groups. Lone-hunting was near impossible!
"Alright then, Sahar." She smiled. "Call me Ivie'lingwa."
She blinked towards him, head tilted curiously. "Running into trees and...?" A pause. "You're very clumsy, aren't you?" She laughed. "I thought lions grew out of clumsiness." She nudged him. "Don't worry about it, though, you certainly have the looks to make up for any clumsiness you have. Silver is such a pretty colour. Like the moon. Like the stars. No wonder this was the pride for you."

Sahar just stood there and 'stared' at the lioness. Was she really unable to tell he was blind? Was he getting better at hiding it? And what was going on with her sudden change in interest in him? Sahar was certainly a very confused lion.
"Uh, yes. The pride and its members are very nice." Well that was an awkward thing to say, but what else could he say?
Clearing his throat, Sahar took a few steps away from Ivie, being as careful as possible to not run into anything. "Um, so, I should continue with my exploring. You're welcomed to join me if you want. Just no laughing if I run into anything." He teased, trying to clear the obvious tension in the air. Whether or not it was only him that felt it, Sahar was unsure, but it made him feel quite awkward and vulnerable.
With on more 'glance' in the direction that Ivie was in, Sahar began to walk off at a resonably slow, but comfortable pace. The slower he went the less painful it was when he happened to collide with anything. Especially the damn trees. Why oh why did he have to choose a pride that had so many damn trees in it's territory?

"Okay, that sounds fair enough. Not like I was doing anything important in any case. I can be there to pick you up if you fall over and knock yourself out." Poor Ivie, she didn't realise how much she was putting her foot in it. "I won't laugh, I promise. Heck being clumsy is an adorable trait, I think." She glanced at him from the corner of her eye.
She started after him, moving slowly at his side, content for him to lead the way. The trees here were plentiful and sometimes she had to leave his side briefly to weave past the opposite side - where she joined him again a few strides later.
"So, did you come to this place alone?" She said, once she could see there would be no more obstacles to interrupt them for a while. "Or do you have a mate with you? If you didn't, I'm sure the girls will be falling at your paws - me included if you're not careful.
She was...hopeless...utterly and truly! And she wasn't even trying to be subtle anymore.
"Nice boys are so hard to come by now-a-days. Or maybe they aren't. Maybe the girls just prefer the bad ones." It seemed to be the case with her. She had a beautiful mate in Dharba, kind, sweet and gentle. But she'd left him because she could not put aside her feelings for the scoundrel that had captured her heart but would not give his in return.
"Listen to me, babbling. You say you have not been put to sleep by those odd herbs, yet?" She chirped. "I had to admit, the whole thing made me nervous, but it's really nothing to worry about. Unless they find out that you were born under a 'slave' moon." She made a face.
