While this is not the first example of such technology, the idea is so farfetched that it may just happen.

*New security guy types in code*

"Access denied"

*Trys again, nervous*

"Access denied"

*Cher-chek!*

*Guy sweats as he tries again*

"Invalid access code"

*Bang!*

Kind of what I was imagining but I didn't picture a 1911 drilled and tapped onto a webcam with servos.

I imagined some kind of SAW or any other belt fed gun mounted onto a camera.

What I was visualizing was a bunch of these being controlled by some minimum wage rent-a-cop at a strip mall, safe in an armored security booth.

Fun for the whole family!

My idea for high-security bases;

camera spots intruder. Intercom gives warning. Intruder does not comply. Automated M134 drops from ceiling, warning is repeated. Intruder hesitates. Intruder gets 300 rounds to the chest. Intercom goes "thank you, and have a nice day."

I'll get blueprints for it later.

Someone needs to invent a 12 ga. minigun. Talk about a wall of lead...

I'd feel bad for that guys ex...

Somebody would probably need to make an all brass cased 12 gauge shell for that, no?
It'd suck if one of those plastic hull-thingies got jammed in there, or something of the like.

They could probably make something along the lines of a blank, and fill it with shot. Or maybe just a higher quality of plastic shell. I mean, vulcan cannon rounds are just standard 20mm bullets, right? Nothing special about them (sans size)?

I remember a period where some police forces were purchasing 10 gauge shotguns for standoff and highway blockade work. This was before the introduction of spike strips and the like.

As I recall, these were pump guns. I don't even want to picture the recoil of a 10 gauge shotgun on auto. But on a tripod with remote control, that would be a winner.

/edit

Here's a semi-auto candidate!

Nice looking gun.

My brother still has a half-case (12-13 rounds) of Pitbull ammo hanging around. Now THAT'll stop an intruder dead in his tracks.
