I FINALLY got a scanner. So I scanned this pic of my first art assignment. He gave me a B for it though.

Well, from our perspective, it's hard to draw.

From a teacher's perspective, it is actually quite easy, especially since it's a cartoon.

Also, the level of detail and shading may not have been what he was looking for depending on how the curriculum is laid out.

General rule of thumb is don't do anime for school assignments, EVER. They seem to automatically mark it lower, like they do pictures of cats and dogs.

Draw anime lots in your free time, but use school to get further into other things.

@Griever:En was easy to draw for me. I didn't want to draw the pictures he wanted us to draw.
@Mishcana:True. I picked En cause he was there in my folders. He wanted us to draw pictures he gave us. I'm not an anime artist though, I'm an Anthro artist. It doesn't bug me that much since I have a 100 in there.

This is so true...

The art teacher in our school even specifically said in the beginning of the year to not draw in the anime style :[

Omg. Is that the thing were you gat a pic and you have to enlarge it?! Omg, I love those type of assignments. I did one in Geomety and it was Yaoi. Got an A on it too : D

I think you did great. I agree with mishcana. I try, try not to do anime style in art. IN other things I do tho. lol.

Hmm. The face… is a bit off. Just a bit. But it's certainly much harder to place things than it looks, so kudos.
Very nicely done, otherwise. But for gridwork, I hate to say, anything cartoony is doomed to be considered rather simple.

I've done projects like these, except it had to be a comic. I did Farside. biggrin
