Double-action.
Black or stainless.
Six to ten shots.
Well-made.
Not expensive.
2-4 inch barrel.

Thoughts?

I have two. They're both s**t. I can recommend what NOT to buy...

One has a bulged barrel, the other (single-action) has a faulty trigger catch. Half the time you pull it back, it just drops. The hammer doesn't lock to the trigger.

Ruger.

Single Six. Single action. Three calibers. A great gun to learn single action shooting with. Affordable and reliable.

Or you might get lucky and find a nice Taurus pistol. But be careful. Too cheap is potentially dangerous.

Sorry Floyd, no single-action. I got one of those. When I get a new part to fix the one that broke and learn to put it back together it'll be okay.

This one's gotta be double-action.

I just ran across someone who spoke highly of the High Standard "The Marshall". Found an auction here. That price is a lot higher than the other one I ran across ($125), but the pictures are much better.
